If you like candles, things that smell nice, massages, or nice skin, you need to get this candle. There's a fragrance out there for you no matter what your tastes are. This candle not only works great for a massage oil, but it also helps to set the romantic, relaxing mood for a luxurious experience. The wax works better for massage than some of my more expensive massage oils, and it's a beautiful candle with a long life.

Smells wonderful, long burn life, long lasting massage oil
The Afterglow massage candle by Jimmyjane is one of the best massage accessories I've seen. It helps you to create the mood, enjoy a luxuriously scented room, and give or receive a wonderful massage.
You can light this candle during foreplay to give a nice, sensual glow to the room. If you decide you want a massage, you already have your oil right there all warmed and ready to go. If you're not feeling a massage, or decide to go with another oil, you can always just blow the candle out and the wax will harden back up to be used next time. You can also burn this candle any time you'd like to have a little bit of fragrance in your room. It makes for an excellent bath time candle. A plus of having a massage candle with you in the bath is that you can use the oil after you dry yourself off as a moisturizer.
With the wide selection of fragrances, you can find one that fits your mood and tastes perfectly. Jimmyjane offers some very exotic fragrances that are beautifully crafted to be in perfect harmony. If you're a floral person, they've got that. If you like musky warm scents, they have that too. There's also a lot of combinations of the two. You won't have to worry about having too many scents floating around or being overwhelming if you use this as a massage oil after burning.
If you have any particular sensitivities to fragrance, you may want to be careful with this. However, the high-quality ingredients mean that there is a low risk for any reactions. Also, make sure not to burn yourself, but that's a given, right?
I would provide a full list of the ingredients if I could find one. The fact that I can't is a little upsetting to me.
Another note: This isn't meant as a lube. It shouldn't go anywhere inside you.
Before burning, the candle has a slightly waxy feel that's a little bit softer than normal candles. If you press your finger in it, it may leave a fingerprint. It can be compared to a candle that is almost all the way cooled down after burning.
Once melted, the oil is very easy to pour out of the container, apply with the brush, or pour right into your Contour M massage stone. It's a little thicker than a normal oil, but it's way thinner than normal candle wax. It's not watery at all, so it's easy to control for precise application. When used as a massage oil, it has a very velvety texture. It reminds me more of a massage lotion than a classic oil. It's not super slippery and offers just the right amount of glide for a smooth massage, but it also allows you to have some control and to do some deep work on any troublesome spots.
It does leave behind a slight waxy feeling, but my partner and I had expected that. It wasn't a feeling that we felt like we needed to wash off immediately. It's also not as greasy as some of the other oils I've tried. If you only use a little at a time, it leaves less of a greasy feeling behind.
Vanilla scents can be very different from one product to the next, so I wasn't sure what to expect from the "Dark Vanilla" scent. Right out of the box, after peeling off the top plastic layer over the candle, it's a pretty strong scent. After the scent diffuses a bit, it lightens up a bit. When burned, the scent lightly fills the air without being too overpowering. When used for massage, the scent is a little less powerful, and slightly lingers on the skin until washed off.
Dark Vanilla is one of the warmer and muskier vanilla scents I've experienced. It's not sweet or sugary like baked goods would be. Even though it is vanilla, it's a pretty unisex scent. I found the scent to be very cozy and sensual instead of smelling like I had a face full of icing. It seems to be a more mature vanilla scent. When I used it as a massage oil, I was surprised by how neutral of a scent it became when it was on my partner. The scent was less vanilla and a little bit more musky and warm. This is a scent I enjoy no matter what my mood is.
Each of these full-sized candles has a burn-life of over 30 hours if not used for massage, so it'll last quite a while. When you decide to use it for massage, make sure that you burn it for at least 30 minutes, or until the wax is melted all the way to the edges of the container. This will ensure that the candle burns evenly. When you're ready for that massage, blow out the candle (carefully, you don't want to blow oil everywhere), and apply the desired amount of oil to the desired applicator (or straight on to the lucky person). The candle wax melts at a lower temperature than regular candles, and ends up slightly warmed instead of burning hot. (It's best to test it before you apply it to make sure that it's to your desired comfort level.) The oil left in the candle will remain liquidy for up to 20 minutes allowing for reapplication without having to burn the candle again.
This is actually one of my longest lasting massage oils I've tried. When in contact with the skin, the wax stays warm and liquidy, so it won't harden up as you're using it, or while it's on you. A quarter-sized amount lasted about 20 minutes during a massage for me without needing to be reapplied. After the massage, it did leave a slight waxy residue on the skin, but it wasn't irritating at all and was easily washed off with soap and water.
Jimmyjane has some of the most elegant packaging I've seen. This would make an awesome gift for just about anyone who enjoys massages or candles. The package did come with a helpful little usage guide which contained some tips and tricks on how to best use this candle and maximize the life of it.
If you leave this candle out in the open, no one should suspect anything. It looks very elegant. It has Jimmyjane written on the side of it with a little image of what looks like two little candle flames. It's totally not something you should hide. If anyone knows what Jimmyjane is, they're probably be more jealous than anything.
Would make a nice gift
Follow-up commentaryI still like it27 days after original review
I like this more as a fragrant candle or a nice little treat, but we don't really use this one. Massage oil is a little easier. And strangely, this one actually "leaked" in my bag under slightly warm heat. I had a massage oil in a bottle and this, and I could tell that this one melted a little and got all over everything. If you're going to travel with it, make sure it's in a plastic bag.

Afterglow candles are so excellent, I'm glad you love yours as much as I love mine. (You must have published a few at a time when you made it to 100, nobody noticed your review!
I think you can find the ingredients on the underside of the candle---they're a little different from scent to scent which I think is why Jimmyjane doesn't publish a master list.
