EdenFantasys Wipes: A One-Two Knockout
Overall this product did a great job. It disinfected perfectly, while still being gentle enough for use on skin. It harmed neither me nor my toys, and I would recommend it for anyone that needs something quick to grab from their nightstand when things get messy.

The Edenfantasys brand wipes offers a brilliant pairing of uses, combining elements of body and toy cleaner together to make a unique product. Not only does it make your toys squeaky clean, it’s also safe to use on the skin; something many competitors can not match. Though I would not recommend using it around the eyes or directly on the sex organs, feel free to use them anywhere else.
Have a set of ben-wa balls that need a wipe down? Is that vibrator you haven’t used recently collecting dust? Running late and don’t have time to wash your face? Scuff marks on your desk? Excess lube on your lover? Eden has got you covered. Only glycerin-sensitive users need have any reservations.
Speaking of which, the product contains just six ingredients: water, chlorhexidine, glycerin, aloe extract, vitamin E and tea tree oil, making it perfect for use all over. The aloe helps soothe the skin as the tea tree oil and vitamin E act as nutrients and moisturizers. Chlorhexidine is the anti-bacterial agent in these wipes, as it works specifically to kill those found on the skin, and it is commonly used in mouthwash and in contact lens cleaner. Compared to other toy cleaners it contains far fewer substances, a merit in my book. It lacks alcohol as well, which can dehydrate the skin. For that reason, you can use it around the anal cavity without fear of drying it out.
One thing I did not like about this product was the packaging. The ten wipes come in a Kleenex-like pouch. To open, you peel back a clear plastic layer, and you can pull out each one individually. For me, the package resealed quite easily. After several uses the adhesive starts to wear off. To prevent the product from drying out, I recommend storing it so that the opening is face-down, forcing it closed.
The bag is labeled quite boldly on the front, proclaiming the brand and the site’s motto, “The Sex Shop you can Trust”, making it anything but discreet. Another reason to store it face down is to hide this, as the back is far less overt if you want discrepancy. When I had it facing this way, there were several times when I mistook them for my makeup remover wipes and grabbed them on accident. The packaging further claims some important points (doesn’t contain alcohol, gentle on skin, safe for toys and that it is for external use only) as well as an advertisement to join the website. A phone number, email and ingredient list are also given on the back.
Now, this left me feeling a bit bittersweet. The amount of information is good, but some of it is cheesy. The design comes off as cheap, and there were two things that concerned me. One was the date stamp, which read “2011 / 03 / 25”. Did they send me expired wipes? Was that when it was made? It gives no indication. This ties into the second bit. There is no clear indication for how long these are good until. Most beauty products give some sort of indication, and I think it would be a good idea for this to as well, knowing what it is meant to be used on.
One other question the packaging left me with was how to dispose of them, such as if they could be flushed down the toilet. To be safe, I would just deposit them in the trash.
The wipes themselves are large rectangles, quite sizable next to the package. Each one is about six and three-fourths by seven and quarter inches, making it neither too big nor too tiny for most objects. If you’re using it to clean smaller toys like bullets, I would recommend you just fold up the wipe and use one area and save the rest of it for a later time. There’s no reason not to use this multiple times as long as it has not dried out yet. There is a fair amount of liquid in each wipe; enough to clean but not so much that it drips everywhere. It leaves behind no residue and they do not rip easily.
The solvent has a surprisingly pleasant smell, like fabric softener. I was expecting a chemical scent. Nothing is a mood killer like the odor of disinfectant. What’s more, the scent didn’t cling to my toys although it certainly made them smell fresh. Even though most of the ingredients are safe, I would not recommend them for consumption. If you have just wiped down your partner and want to go in for a nibble, wait a second until it has had a chance to evaporate fully. They will still be squeaky clean, but you won’t have to deal with a horrid aftertaste.

Experience
Note: I was not able to test this on textured or glass toys. The ingredients may have a dulling effect on the glass, or it might leave streaks. It did leave behind traces when I tested it out on a window.
And coming in at about 50 cents a wipe, I say the product has a good value. Eden lacks a variety of cleaners in the same style, but Classic Erotica’s Before and After Spray in wipe form costs about a dollar each elsewhere, and Afterglow wipes cost the same as these.
