Durex utopia gets the job done but costs a little much

Durex Play Utopia is a great clitoral stim gel which does exactly as advertised- engorges your clit a la L-argenine and tingles as well. It comes in a refillable leak-proof bottle and doesn't require much to get the desired affect. It's nice and thick and stays put where you apply it whether it be to your clit, g-spot or frenulum. The only drawbacks are the price and the lack of longevity of stimulation. It needs to be reapplied every 10-15 min if you haven't achieved arousal yet.

extremely useful review
Durex utopia is a clitoral stimulation gel, meant to physically arouse a woman's genitals, especially of course her clit. These types of gels can also be used for g-spot stimulation, but you need to have a fairly shallow g-spot, which fortunately I have, in order for them to be easily successful. Some gels work with a myriad of natural ingredients, all with tingling and mild stimulation in mind. Those ones don't do crap at all for me. I need a vassal dilator. Basically a topical female viagra. L-argenine and l-ornithine and l-citruline are amino acids that work as vassal dilators. Vassal dilators promote blood flow- in other words they make blood rush to the surface of wherever you apply them. So one of these ingredients in conjunction with either peppermint oil or some sort of menthol based ingredient provide the cool tingling that compliments the warm blood flow so much. The result? An engorged clit and either orgasms that come faster or hit harder or last longer than without the product. Foreplay can be cut in half if not thrown out all together (though don't get me wrong, foreplay is great but sometimes you just don't have the time and/or energy- or the partner)

Durex Utopia contains:
Water, Propylene Glycol,Arginine,Hydroxyethylcellulose, Lactic Acid, PEG-40, Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Flavor, Isopulegol, Methylparaben.

I've already explained argenine (not sure what difference with or without the 'L-') means but it can also be used for erectile dysfunction in men, proplylene glycol is used as a moisturizer in this case, hydroxyethylcellulose is a thickening agent, lactic acid is used "to adjust acidity and for its disinfectant and keratolytic properties", PEG stands for polyethylene glycol and isn't the safest ingredient. It's not recommended for use on damaged skin, but if that was your situation you probably would be too sensitive to enjoy stim gels anyway. It can be toxic to organs in large doses. Castor oil is a vegetable oil which sometimes when mixed with other chemicals can be used to "maintain the acidity of the vagina" so I would assume it's fairly safe. Isopulegol is an alcohol which provides the menthol like tingling that is usually from peppermint oil or menthol itself in stim gels.
And now we come to methylparaben- PARABEN- the scary ingredient we get warned away from so often on eden. The only problem I can find with it is that it reacts with the sun's UV rays and can cause skin damage. Well, I don't plan on masturbating outside since I live in a busy city neighborhood, so personally I am not going to freak out about parabens, but each to their own. Phew! ingredients down.
note** I noticed on another contributors review a mention of avoiding L-argenine with herpes, but I would avoid stim gels altogether due to probable pain

Viscosity/taste/smell/tackiness
Durex Utopia really IS a gel, nice and thick not like other runny stim gels. It stays where you put it, which is great if you like the sensation on your clit but can't handle it slathered over your entire vulva. Men can try it on their frenulum for a nice sensate treat. That said, it does not work as a basic lube- unless you want an extremely expensive very tingly lube. It isn't sticky and you only have to wash it off if you don't like the sensation. Personally I didn't notice a smell but it does have a sweet mint flavor.

Packaging:
Utopia comes in a white box-very discrete with purple lettering and zero pictures. The ingredients are listed on the back. Unwrap the thin plastic wrap covering, open the box and inside is a nice glass bottle with 75ml or .51 fl oz. of the product. Fairly small, but because it's so thick, which means it doesn't have a lot of water in it, it lasts as long as a tube containing twice its volume but with more water. The bottle has a pump tube which I thought would be an issue when I got down to the dregs, but it unscrews so it's easy to use a q-tip or something to get out every last drop. I've even re-used the bottle to carry other stim gels that tend to leak if jostled around at the bottom of a purse. The bottle does have a lid but it's not necessary, so if you lose it don't worry about it, it won't leak and it won't dry up. On the bottom of the bottle is an expiration date. Mine says feb 2013 but the bottle's already empty, so I don't think that's going to be a problem.
Experience
So one night I realized I was out of stim gels. I usually have at least one brand around, as I'm on the search for the perfect one, but I was plum out. Off I ran to my local drugstore, which, fortunately is only a half a block away. Durex Utopia was on sale, but it was still a little costly at around $20. I quickly scanned the ingredients and YES L-Argenine was there. That and the cash in my pocket meant I was going home to play. Ever since I discovered stim gels last year, along with my first silicone vibrator, the fun factory ocean I have been a happy happy clam. Edenfantasys doesn't sell my fav brand but after studying the ingredients I soon found replacements.
About 10 minutes before I'm ready to masturbate or have sex, I apply a couple of pumps of Utopia
to my clit or on my g-spot via the tip of a g-spot toy. I especially massage it into my clitoral shaft above my clit on the back of my clitoral hood. Then after the initial tingling dies down I try a vibe against the same spot. The form 2 works great. Very simply- amazing orgasms ensue soon after! Needless to say, I don't even bother touching my clit without it!

I will add that after being reminded on another contributors review, I remembered how important it is not to use stim gels, Durex Utopia included, when my Ph is off. Yeast infections are the result of extreme imbalances, but even a little too much acidity and this stuff will sting like crazy. Some people are extra sensitive to the cooling agent and won't like the feeling at all, so a test of your inner labia- just a small patch should tell you if you can handle it on your clit or inside on your g-spot.
Follow-up commentary
I haven't bought another one yet because I am going nuts trying every stim gel I can get my hands on but I enjoyed every last drop of this product which I able to do because the lid comes right off and the bottle is big enough to easily fit a q-tip into. I'm pretty sure it guaranteed me an orgasm every time! I now use the bottle as a way to carry around enough lube for traveling. I put liquid silk in it and I'm sure to fill it with intimate organics defense. I recommend it for antone who likes a strong stim gel- the kind that some women have to run into the bathroom and wash off.

Excellent review, I have this and really like it. I'm trying to find the perfect stimulating gel as well. I have to have L-arginine in mine before I feel anything.
