Dreaded Sugar Kisses
The Sugar Kiss Edible Icing Kit is not worth buying due to the fact that in my opinion there is more negative aspects to this product than positive ones.
Published:
Pros
No bad after taste. Doesn't melt. Colorful Icings.
Cons
Hard to squeeze from tube. Icing Hardens. Attachments Useless.
I was extremely excited about the Kiss Me edible icing kit. This kit includes icings, sprinkles and even 4 attachments.
The purple container pictured with this product is included. The container is made out of cardboard except for the base and top. They are made of some sort of metal. The lid slips on and off and doesn't lock or snap into place but it does serve its purpose.
The kit contains three 4.25 ounce icings: Dreamy Blue, Sweet Lavender, and Pretty Pink. My excitement quickly withered when I tasted each frosting. I was hoping and thinking that each frosting would have its own flavor, but boy was I wrong. To put it simply all three of the icings taste like vanilla icing that you would buy at the store for cakes. I was also concerned that the icings would melt once it was put on warm skin, kind of like frosting on a warm cake. But to my surprise it didn't melt, instead it hardened after sitting for a couple minutes. A positive to the icings is that the coloring of each tube DOES NOT color the skin and washes off very easily with saliva or water.
To be completely honest the attachments that are included with this kit are useless. I come to this conclusion when trying to push the icing out of each tube without an attachment. The icing is EXTREMELY hard to push out to put on the skin. But to be sure I tried each icing with each attachment and I was right. When you put on an attachment its even more difficult to squeeze any out. You don't even notice the different shapes once you do get some out.
However once you have managed to put some icing on your partner you can add yummy sprinkles. The kit includes 1 ounce of multicolored crystal sprinkles as well as 1 ounce of pink and white candied hearts. Which I must say in my head sounded yummy but when I put it to the test it wasn't exactly what I had imagined. The sprinkles stick extremely well to the icing as long as it hasn't hardened yet. But once you have licked them off you end up having to chew a little bit. Which for me kind of messes up the mood. However I have found another use for the sprinkles I put them on our cupcakes. They taste and look just like sprinkles from the store. They are getting used just not for their original purpose.
So to sum up everything, The Sugar Kiss Edible Icing Kit was a great idea, but once put to the test its not that great of a product. And I would NOT recommend it to anyone due the large number of negative aspects.
