Doesn't stand up to Burt's Bees
I'm a lover of cooling/tingling lip balms and glosses so I figured I'd give this a try. I was less than satisfied with it. It does do the job of cooling but it won't freshen your breath and I didn't fine the taste to be pleasant. It just wasn't for me. If flavor isn't an issue for you, then I think you'll have a better opinion of it.

Doesn't freshen breath (but I didn't expect it to), may be a con for those that expected it

Not Soap Radio's Minty breath freshening lip balm is actually not a balm nor a breath freshener (I mean come on, it's inside your mouth that collects the bacteria to make your breath smell, not your lips!). It is actually a gloss. You put it on your lips like you do any other gloss for some shine, and to kick lip dryness. You can use it alone or apply it over your favorite lipstick.
As I mentioned, it isn't a balm, it's actually a gloss. It has a medium thickness (not thick like Carmex) and glides on your lips easily, making them super slick and shiny. It is minty and you can immediately feel the cool tingle as soon as you apply it and begin to rub it in with your finger or rub your lips together. It isn't a burn or an unpleasant feel, just a nice refreshing cooling.
Why it says "breath freshening" is beyond me. Brush your teeth people, pop a mint or stick of gum because this isn't going to mask bad breath from the morning or after eating something like garlic or onion. The smell actually isn't very strong at all. It is just FAINTLY minty, not peppermint, more like a spearmint perhaps? I really can't smell anything after I apply it to my lips. I have to hold the pot to my nose to smell it. The tingling doesn't last as long as Burt's or the Bella II Fiore gloss does.
The taste isn't something I enjoy. I was expecting something like Burt's Bees but it is way off. Burt's smells and tastes like sweet, cool peppermint; the taste is pleasant. The taste of this balm makes me crinkle my nose up, I don't like it. It faintly has a sweet taste with an aftertaste similar to that of an unflavored chapstick, which to me is just....yuck and then ends up making my tongue feel dry. I don't know what to compare the taste to, but for me, it just didn't taste minty at all. However, some reviews report a mint or spearmint flavor, so I guess it just depends on the person.
The ingredients are:
Petrolatum, Cottonseed Oil, Flavoring
It is free of phthalates, sulfates, triclosan, and parabens.
The pot is cute, I'll give it props for that. I like the fact that it is blue in color, but it won't turn your lips blue. It goes on clear. It is small enough for your pocket or purse.
I really love Not Soap Radio's products but I'm not a fan of this. I like the cooling effect and the shine but that's about it. I will just be sticking to my Burt's and Bella II Fiore for when I want cooling tingle AND gloss. If you are one of those people that doesn't care about flavor, then I think you will like it more than I did. I'm one of girls that only wants yummy tasting things on her lips for sweet kisses and not having to cringe if I lick my lips.

I just didn't care for this balm at all. I gave it a few tries but it has since ended up in the trash.
