Delightful and playful fun when you need a naughty laugh
This game would be exciting for the first one or two times you use it but, since it's a card-based game, the thrill of pulling a card and not knowing what it suggested would fade once you became familiar with the scenarios.
Published:
Pros
Variety of suggestions, ease of use, compact nature of the packaging.
Cons
Not really for new relationships, not explicit or specific.
I bought this game from Spencer's many years ago as a fun thing to giggle over with friends before I even gave thought about trying out some of the cards in private. Each card has a different scenario or dare to get you and your partner in the mood. The scenarios range from role-playing to suggesting specific actions to perform on your partner without actually using explicit phrasing. They're suggestive but not lewd or vulgar and give you a good push towards a romantic encounter that will be quite memorable.
Considering how long ago I bought these cards, I don't remember how much I originally bought them, but $5 is definitely a decent price for Hot Date.
If you need a foreplay boost or if you'd like to try some light scenario starters (for anything from a romantic encounter to a BDSM scene), these cards would be a fun way to pick a different thing to do each night for a month or two.
I never once actually used this game with a boyfriend as it probably would work better with a couple who has been together a while and wants to spice things up or if they need some advice. I have plenty of imagination so this game ended up being more of an amusing item to have instead of a sexy game to light (or re-light) the fire in the bedroom.
Realistically speaking, though, once you've gone through the cards at least once, the thrill of anticipation wouldn't be the same.
This might be better as a gag gift or for a bachelorette party. When I bought it, my girl friends and I went through each card to see if they had anything that we hadn't already thought of. Fun, entertaining, amusing, but not for a long-term investment.
