Contour YuMMMM
The JimmyJane Contour M massage stone is an odd looking glazed ceramic piece used for giving massages, either by itself or with massage oils or JimmyJane Massage Oil Candle Wax. It is amazing for providing firm pressure from its different points to help work out knots and kinks in many parts of the body during a massage. The sensual shape and convenient size will make it suitable for virtually any user.

Pros
Well made, ergonomic, easy to clean, many surfaces to use
Cons
pricey
The Contour M is a hand held, non powered massage stone from JimmyJane products. Massage stones are used to supplement the hands or feet of the masseuse to aid in a firmer pressure on certain parts of the body and for a different feel than hands, feet, elbows or knees can give.
The Contour M is made of molded ceramic with a glossy glaze. It has four blunt points on one side, with a small “cup” in the middle, and a large very blunt curve on the other side. One may use one point at a time for full pressure in a localized area, all the points together, or only two or three of them or the rounded blunt back of the stone for more diffused pressure. Even with the diffused larger end, the pressure given by the Contour M is much heavier than most hands and even feet can give. The directions make it clear that this stone should not be used on the abdomen of a pregnant woman, or on the base of the neck or the lower back of the head. Seeing as these points could be damaged easily, this is good advice to follow (although my husband begs me to use it on the back of his neck….)
To me, the stone looks something like a large tooth. It has a beautiful ergonomic shape and fits in the hand easily. The stone is about three inches across and about 2 inches deep at most points. It also feels heavy for its size. We store ours out in the open for easy retrieval. This massager is very discreet. It doesn't look like a sex toy, as it isn't one, and can be left out without fear of children, in laws or nosy neighbors "wondering what you are up to."
One way to use the stone effectively is to use it with massage oil or the wax/oil from a massage candle. Of course, the JimmyJane Afterglow Massage Candles are made for use with this stone and work well with it. We have found that a good way to measure out an amount of oil is to pour the warm wax oil from the candle directly into the cup of the concave side of the stone. This is a good technique for the person receiving the massage who does not like hot oil or wax directly on his skin, or for the masseuse who doesn’t like oil on his or her hands. The cup is then carefully but quickly turned upside down on the body part to be massaged and the oil is disbursed nicely. Then long deep strokes can follow to spread the wax/oil over the skin.
The stone can be used for long strokes, short ones, to concentrate on one part of the body intensely or to do a full body massage. The stone will slide easily over most people’s skin even without oil or wax/oil, but a lubricant not only helps the stone slide more easily, but oils and waxes can be chosen for their healing effects, their fragrance or for their moisturizing properties. It is easy to turn the stone over to change pressures during the massage, or to put it aside to get at some areas with the hands, if that is what you and your massage victim… er… recipient desires.

Experience
We found the stone feels sensual to both the user and the recipient of the massage. I enjoy simply holding it in my hand, and rolling it over and over, lingering over the smooth back and over the little bumps, with the residual aromas of the last massage oil we used often still present. The stone should be and can be washed carefully in warm water and mild soap or detergent. As it a sensual toy and not actually used for sexual purposes (I’m pretty imaginative and I can’t think of any sexual uses for direct use with this item) there is no reason to use antibacterial soap or toy cleaner. One may want to put a small hand towel down in the sink and clean the toy similarly to the cleaning process of a glass sex toy, as it may break or chip if dropped.
It comes in a classic white JimmyJane box, with directions. The stone can be stored in the box, but we leave ours on the headboard of our bed so we remember to use it, even during impromptu massages.
My husband says he likes the massages given with this stone, but actually prefers my hands, as he says I can “get into areas the stone can’t.” I am thinking the smallness and flexibility of fingers does do a lot that this stone can’t do, but I have found that when he has muscle spasms (and he gets terrible muscle spasms due to a neurological condition) this stone, plus a good massage oil or wax will work them out almost as well as the Grand Dame of Massage; The Hitachi.
If the JimmyJane Contour I is also used, the two can be used together as a rolling massager. I do not yet own this second product, but I do have it in mind for the future.
Most of our massages are a combination of this stone, with hands, feet, elbows and other body parts used by the masseuse (usually me) to stimulate and relax the recipient of the massage. (Usually him.) I even use the stone alone, for the muscle and connective tissue pain of Fibromyalgia. The firmness of this stone, either with a massage oil or alone, even through clothing, is soothing for especially the arms, leg and lower back pains of this condition. The stone is so firm that even delicate pressure can result in a great deal of release of endorphins and relief from cramps, aches and pain. I do avoid the calves of my legs in any massage, as some women (more common in women on the Pill, HRT or who are pregnant) may have problems with sluggish circulation that could result in blood clots in the legs. One may ask one’s physician if massage to one’s own calves is recommended or not.
We enjoy this item and use it frequently. It is a great addition to a new or growing collection of massage oils, waxes and tools. This product is a sensual, luxurious and useful addition to any sensual collection of products for massage and relaxation.

We use this extensively as we use a lot of massage in our relationship. I tend to like the feeling of this massager more than my husband does, but even he says it has its place for really pin point, tight muscles.
I even continue to use it alone for the pains that fibromyalgia causes in my legs, arms and lower back. It can give a deeper massage to these areas than just my hands can, and I often use it when I am in pain and my husband isn't around to help.
I tend to actually like this better than a vibrating massage at times.
It sits beautifully on our headboard of the bed, looking like a piece of sculpture, so we can grab it and put to use with or without massage oil or massage wax whenever we need a good massage.

I have been wanting this for a long time.

I think it's worth the money or the points, Jen. We love this massage stone much.

In the past, I've never thought to purchase a back massager, but it sounds pretty awesome. I think it could make our massages better. I like the added features that it can be used with the oil and the other jimmyjane product!

This sounds like an amazing product. I'm going to add it to my wishlist. I like that you can use it with massage oils or massaging candles.
