This wonderful little candle is used for massage. I didn't quite understand that at first, I mean it must be hot, right? Well it's hot but not burning hot. It turns into a massage oil that you can enjoy together with your partner. It can be used for normal or sexual massage (that is, involving genitals). Especially if you like hotness and temperature play, or tried hot way before (it's less hot than that). Precautions would be to mind the candle as it's an open flame and you should be careful not to light your hair or fire. Or other stuff. Because of this you will need to put out the flame before moving the candle. Another consideration would be not to use it as a lubricant, especially not if you are using condoms because oil is not compatible with latex. As for other uses it can certainly be used as mood lighting like regular candle but it would be a waste to not have massages with it. Once you try it, you'll love it.


I don't think there is an allergy concern. It's body-safe and paraben-free. No phthalates, sulfates, petrochemicals, animal products or animal testing, according to JimmyJane (the manufacturer). It's also clean-burning, paraffin-free and lead-free, with a natural cotton wick. The ingredients include many beneficial ones like Jojoba, Shea Butter, Vitamin E, Soy and Aloe! I don't think it gets any better than this.

The texture is amazing. It's a silky smooth oil that is easy to pour but only when it's hot. In its cold form it looks like a regular candle. But after about 30 minutes of burning the right amount will liquefy around the wick and it'll look like a massage oil, transparent and thin. Easy to spread on your lover's body. It's just that it's not enough as you'll want more and more. It's easy to get impatient when you wait for all the oil to melt. I recommend lighting it again once you poured some. To keep the remaining oil liquid if you need more or when you switch and you'll be the one who gets massaged, then you'll need another pouring of the precious oil.

It tastes like oil with a touch of candle, not too pleasant. It's not edible but it's okay to kiss or even lick your lover's body after massage but during and it's certainly not the best for oral sex. But the scent. The scent is absolutely wonderful. I have the 'Dark Vanilla' version and it's a hit! I have bought many vanilla scented products but so far this is the strongest and best one. It lingers in the room pleasantly after use and we were really happy about that. Sometimes I just smell the candle as-is without burning it, just to have a sniff of that good scent! It reminds me of vanilla ice cream but of a more natural origin. If you like vanilla, then you'll definitely love this 'Dark Vanilla'.

The only bad thing is that it doesn't last too long or you need to use more than what liquifies in 30 minutes. For a back massage that takes long it's simply not enough because it'll absorb into the skin. So if you plan on doing professional style, hour long massage sessions for the whole body you'll need several candles. But for casual sexy massages, it lasts just long enough to be good. The fact that it absorbs into the skin can be really nice, considering the great ingredients. If you start with the back of your lover, she'll turn over eventually. With regular oils, when they don't absorb well the sheets can become oily while it would have been better if that absorbed into the skin. In the case of this candle it's a non-issue because by the time you finish massaging the back, the oil will be nicely absorbed and your partner can turn over for the second part of the massage. There is 32 hours’ worth of oil in this candle.

When first opening this product I instantly knew this was a premium candle. I felt like I was being treated to something luxurious. It came in a cube-shaped box. The (very detailed) manual on top, then the porcelain candle in the center, which is beautiful. It has small pour spout for easier use. The JimmyJane logo is featured in the corner of a side. The top of the candle was covered with a light plastic sheet. I really like these small details and I could smell the wonderful scent right away without even removing the sheet. The packaging is discreet there is no reason why you couldn't leave it out in the open. The candle is not that big, the dimensions are 2.6" x 2.6" x 2.5" and 4.5oz (128g).

I suggest pouring onto your hands first then letting it continue to pour down onto your partner's body. This way you can check how hot the oil is and lets you control it. Your hand will take it better than your partner's body parts, especially for the first time when it's not yet known for you how warm it is. You'll notice that it goes cold pretty fast. But that's physics; there isn't much you can do about it. It doesn't make the candle any less good.
