Sweet, earthy and tangy scented, this fantastic massage candle with give you both an intoxicatingly scented room and a fantastically sensual massage oil that is always the perfect temperature. Unfortunately, the scent is limited edition and the price tag is a little hefty.

Pros
Sharp looking black container, AMAZING scent.
Cons
Hefty price, scent is a limited run.
I've reviewed the Ember candle previously in this review.
Once again the packaging of this is lovely. A sturdy two part laminated cardboard box the white outer box is embossed with the JimmyJane logo in silver and the top features the scent description. The inner box is of the same cardboard but in black and has a pink sticker across the back that has the product blurb “Natural emollient massage candle. Set the tone with illumination, scent and the option of a tactile thrill. Burn this as a candle, or snuff the flame and playfully drip the wax on your lucky accomplice. The cosmetic-grade soy wax and natural plant extracts liquify to nourish the skin and excite the senses. Burns for up to 60 hours (plus afterglow)”. The candle is wrapped in gray foam and the lid is buffered with the same and securely sealed. There is a little booklet that has the directions and tips for use in English, Spanish, French, Dutch and German. The ingredients for each scent are listed in this booklet and from what I see, the Saffron Neroli has the least amount of chemical additives.
The main differences between the "special edition" scent of Absinthe Sugar-Water are 1, the ceramic container is a lovely semi-matte black porcelain, and 2, the candle scent which is a limited run.
For some reason I found this candle to melt a little faster than my other Ember candle, it only took about 20 min. to melt enough for a full back rub. The oil is delightfully silky and moisturizing. It didn't have any waxy feeling, just lovely warm, silken oil.
It's pretty dang discreet. It's a candle, no one has to know it's a "massage" candle.
The scent of this candle is amazing. I was afraid it would smell too anise-ish like most of the absinthe I've had, but it's wonderful. It's a green, herbal-ish scent with a lovely fresh undertone. It has a nice middle note of vanilla and the top note is minty.
While I'm not sure it's worth the extra $24.99 (compared to the normal Ember) despite its "limited edition" status and snazzy black container, the scent is nonetheless fantastic. It's a shame the scent is only a limited run.

Follow-up commentary
4 months after original review
Despite the strong scent, this candle/massage oil has such a pleasing aroma that I don't mind the fact burning it in my tiny room will make it smell for days. it's fresh and green and the oil is very moisturizing. We've relegated it to use only sparingly, more for the strength of the smell than the ridiculous Limted Edition status or price.
