These candles would best be used in water and I would recommend you use it in something a wide container. I found it best in a container or in something that it set low. This makes it safer and does not give it a chance to catch anything on fire. Also, if it is too close to glass it can leave smudges on the glass and not look as nice. It is nice for setting a romantic mood. They should not be used for people who are sensitive to smells.

These were your basic floating candle. Do not leave them out because they will collect dust. Instead, I would recommend keeping them in the plastic container they arrived in. If it does need cleaned it can be difficult because of the shape of the roses. I ended up just running it under water and wiping it with a paper towel.

The smell does get very overwhelming if there is not an open window or good ventilation. I have dropped them a couple of times on accident and have not broken them yet. Mine did burn longer then the time estimated on the package. The smell did stick to our bed cloths for a couple days.

The candles lasted longer than stated on the website. They did not make a mess of the bowls except for some small smoke stains on the glass. That was to be expected though with the glass. These floating candles were a great mood setter and did not make a big mess.

The floating candles arrived in a clear plastic container. The container had notches where each floating candle fit. However, the plastic container was not at all sturdy.

The floating candles really helped set the mood but they were way too strong. The rose smell lasted for quite a while after we lit them.
