I have searched high and low for quality, large toys that I may use in the shower or with a suction cup base on the proper surface. Enter the Double Sided Suction Cup, with this product I should be able to buy and use whatever I want in the shower hassle free right? Wrong. Ok, yes, it DOES work, but it has several flaws that I'd like to discuss.

This product came shipped as always in an unmarked white box (USPS), inside was brown packaging paper, the product in a sealed cardboard box, an invoice, and a 2011 product catalog. The box the product comes in is an average, run of the mill, cardboard box. Nothing really pops out and screams "I'm a sex toy, hear me rawr". The box is small, approximately the same size as the product and does not come with any instructions. But hey, do you really need a set of instructions? Once I opened the product, a small 4 inch disc fell out. It's pretty much as the description of the product says, a double sided suction cup, or rather two suction cups that have had their backsides joined together. Each side of the suction cup has a small tab that is supposed to be designed to pull the product up from whatever you're using it on. Unfortunately, in our tests we found this little tab absolutely useless. When using large products and a dry surface it suctions so tight that you even have some trouble removing it.

The product does have a faint odor but I did not have any sort of skin reaction from the product. The odor is probably due to the cheap material used to make this product. The material seems to be pretty tough, it is a fairly thick clear rubber and is not hypoallergenic. If you have a severe latex allergy, you may want to avoid this double-sided suction cup. Additionally, I am concerned of prolonged exposure of this product to other latex rubber and silicone toys. I've had the dyes in toys rub off that way before, I'm wondering if after many uses I'll start to see the same behavior in this suction cup.

The meat and potatoes, how did this product perform? It attached to 50% of the bases I tried it against, anything that is already concave will not work easily. I tried it with several toys including a 6 1/2 inch by 1 1/2 inch silicone dildo with a very oddly shaped base, a 7" by 2" dildo that has a flat base with balls, and two other toys I don't play with often, just due to the lack of a sticky base. All of the toys I tried it with, with a couple exceptions, worked every time.

The suction cup, however, doesn't actually like to stick to all surfaces. Things such as door frames, walls, etc. The best place to stick I've found, is a glossy, smooth surface such as a shower wall (not tiled), and a glass mirror or window. The corollary to this is that as soon as water gets behind the seal, on either side, it's over. It slides right off the wall or pulls right off.

I do believe though I promised you a surprise, and deliver I shall. For shits and giggles, I went down into our dungeon area, grabbed our massive behemoth of a butt plug, and first adhered it to the base, success! To paint a picture of what’s to come, the toy in question is 9 inches long and at it's widest point measures 5-6 inches. I marched right upstairs armed with my new plug and well, what do you know? This suction cup actually held this big ass butt plug up! I am very surprised and happy to say that the suction cup held both the toy and to the wall. In fact, I had to pry the damn thing off.

I originally had some good things to say about this product but I think at the time I was under the delusion that I REALLY wanted it to work. It just didn't do that, work that is.

After a bit of use it became fairly, well, useless. It started to fold and crease on itself, the product smelled bad, it became sticky even after cleaning it, and pretty much refused to do its sole purpose which is to suction to anything. We recently moved and during the move I had to pack up all of our various kink and sex toys, when I got to this item I just threw it in the trash with all of our other crappy toys. My only regret is that I never got to see the garbage guy's face when he tossed our box of dildos and crappy BDSM supplies.
