The Wahl is a massager that can be used all over the body. You can also make Wahl more X-rated by using it as many do-- as a clitoral/labial stimulator. It works amazingly on sore necks, tensed shoulders, even your poor stressed out scalp!

With many attachments, everyone can find good use for this massager. Anyone can use this, male or female, dorm-living or private abode. However, if you intend to use this genitally, those who are extremely sensitive may not find Wahl appropriate for them.
Those looking for an underwater plaything should also look elsewhere, as this is an electric device.
Wahl is also pretty discreet because it IS, after all, just a massage tool and not "traditionally" a sex toy.

The Wahl is made of plastic and PVC. Specifically, the body of Wahl is made out of beautiful dark grey plastic. (Grey is my favorite color!) The attachments are made out of PVC. PVC is not a very "body-safe" material, and it cannot really be sanitized so do not share your Wahl. But, hell, why would I share it anyway? It has permanent residence between my thighs, thank you very much. I suppose you could attempt to put a condom over the attachments, or permanently divide the attachments up between parties.

The attachments are shiny and stiff but have some give on them, allowing them to be attached onto the massager with some bending and pushing.

I personally did not notice a very strong smell upon opening up my packaging. There may have been a slight smell with the attachments, but it definitely did not cause me any discomfort or disgust. As for taste, I can't really complain much. I mean, the attachments taste like... plastic-y material and definitely aren't meant for the mouth!

The Wahl has the ability to be both your most obvious body massager as well as your most discreet sex toy. The toy is not meant to be a toy, after all, and most of my neighbors wouldn't really think twice about it sitting on my nightstand. It's no the best toy to take with you when you're traveling, though. It is bulky and electric, so you are tethered to having an open outlet nearby when you want to use it.


Wahl is about 8" in length, 4.5" in width, and weighs in at a nice 2lbs. It's large and in charge, but this 2lb baby is definitely big, beautiful, and flaunting it. Well, the beauty is mainly on the inside, but trust me- its there. For a massager, Wahl is functional and stands out no more than the rest. For a sex toy, though, Wahl is considered aesthetically challenged. I noticed that the product photos show a blue push-dial, while my model's is white. There is also a light, retro looking white print along the side of my Wahl- reading "All-over Massager."

Anyway, this massager is designed pretty well, with a handle that you can easily grip onto. There are also ergonomic marks along the "head" of the toy, which is this great for reaching different angles along the body. There is a circular spot at the top of the toy where you can screw on your attachments.
The attachments can be tricky to push on, and I had more luck by twisting them slowly around this circular spot.

The six attachments are spectacular~
General Body- A wide-cup, that looks almost like a cone with flared out ends. It's great for all over, I found it had too harsh of an edge/seam for genital stimulation. (Though if you wear panties or use a towel with it, it might be suitable.)
Muscle-Kneading- Looks like some crinkle french fries, to me! A row of ridges. I thought this was great for feet. I did not actually enjoy this one too much.
Knuckle Joint- This is the triangular (almost pyramid) shaped attachment. It says to use this between knuckled. I think I am just too delicately bone-y for that. I enjoy this on hard to reach or tough places, like if I have a knot just under the wing of my shoulder bone. I also enjoy it on my clitoris, as long as it is angled juuust right.
Facial- This attachment is wide and cup-like. This is nice when used over your jaw, especially if you are like me and carry all of your stress and tension in your jaw.
Deep Muscle- This is the bigger attachment, it has a center spot/bump with two rings surrounding it and a line/seam through the diameter. I didn't like this one as much for clitoral play, because it just had too many lines/seams that would irritate my skin. I suppose that it could diffuse the vibrations better for some people, though.
Spot- This is my new best friend forever. You must be careful with the spot attachment, because it can bruise uninsulated body parts. For me, though, it's perfect for masturbation- just never on the high setting.

And I must mention that I found ALL of these attachments to be all-stars when applied to the base of my neck. Stellar!

The controls on this are really simple. It has a sliding button, which takes it from off, to "Low," to "High." It's really simple and quite easy to use without looking at it.
While most people find this too bulky to use during partnered intercourse, I found a few ways to make it work! You can keep your legs wide apart while he enters kneeling in front of you; you can cradle the vibrator between your thighs while you spoon (ohhh boy, biggest orgasm I've ever had); you can use it on the edge of the bed while he enters standing up. I found it too damn powerful to use doggy style, but that could just be me! And of course, using it on your partners back makes this a definite partner-toy.

Now, the settings on this are simple. Low and High. Low will give you an incredibly strong vibration setting, which is just so beautiful and smooth feeling... It is incredibly strong though- stronger than all of my other vibrators (I have no Hitachi to compare it to). I would even say that it's "like butter." It's amazing. I kid you not.

Then there is "High." This is where the vibrations edge on "OW" for the genital area, depending on which attachment you use. I never use the high setting on my genitals, it is too "thuddy" and almost feels like something pounding against my poor labia.
It is, however, heavenly if you have a messed up back full of knots, or a deep-tissue booty needing some TLC.

This toy is NOT waterproof. Keep it AWAY from water. Especially while it's plugged in. Don't take it into the bath or shower, please.

As for noise level, this is something I did not know or expect from the ever notorious Wahl Massager. It is virtually silent. However, I found it quite hilarious that with certain attachments, when rubbed across the body, this massager makes a light-saber noise. My boyfriend had tons of fun with that one, waving Wahl across my back and then quoting Star Wars movies. Real romantic, I tell ya...

It is relatively easy to care for this toy. It is electric, so batteries are not necessary obviously. It just plugs right into the outlet and you are good to go.

As for cleaning, remove the attachments from the toy first. Then you can use antibacterial soap and warm water on your attachments, though they cannot be sterilized. It is relatively simple to get everything generally cleaned though. For some attachments, the running water just isn't good enough to get in the little nooks and crannies. In that case, I just use a handy Q-tip.

You can use any type of lubricant with this toy, which is always a plus.

As for storage, I use a zip lock baggy for keeping all my attachments together. I then put the attachments and the massager right back in its box. I keep this on the bottom shelf of my nightstand.
