non-discreet
I'm not new to the world of cleaning products, but I am new to toy cleaners. I figured that they'd all work the same; meaning, one in about ten would work, and most of it was all advertising hype. When I got the toy cleaner, I was skeptical at first, especially after reading a few reviews, but I was so surprised and happy to find that I can proudly review a product that actually does what it's supposed to do!
Brand Spankin' Toy Cleaner by Topco and Penthouse is an antibacterial spray on toy cleaner. Four fluid ounces are contained in the small bottle, and while that may not sound like a whole lot, it actually goes a long way. I tried it out on my various toys (glass, TPR, and plastic) and found that after cleaning all six of them there was barely a dent in the level of the liquid.
The cleaner is colorless and odorless, but the bottle proudly proclaims it as a Penthouse product and toy cleaner, so I would suggest storing it upright in a cupboard or in a toy box if space allows. When I opened the clear shipping package, I noticed a slight wetness on the bottle, but it didn't look as if any of the cleaner had leaked out; since receiving it I've stored it upright and haven't noticed that wetness since.
The spray design of the product makes it really easy to use. A few sprays and a quick wipe down with a clean cloth and you're good to go! I'd still recommend rinsing with water before your next play session; the toy cleaner does clean the toys off, and I didn't notice any stickyness or residue left behind, but the cleanser is made up of chemicals (Triclosan, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Methylchlorisothiazolinone, Methylisothiazolinone Polysorbate 20, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Tetrasodium EDTA, Water) and even the cleanest of cloths leave behind lint and fuzzies so getting those off before playing is something you should always do. You should also always use a clean towel when cleaning your toy - otherwise it kinda defeats the purpose ;). The cleaner didn't discolor the towels in anyway either, but I'd recommend having a couple hand towels designated for the 'toy aftercare' just to make things easier.
All in all, for the price, the toy cleaner is a good investment. It lasts a long time, has no adverse side effects for either toys or humans that i've seen, and more importantly, it works.

Follow-up commentary
8 months after original review
This toy cleaner does NOT age well. As time passed, I found myself using other less chemically composed cleaners (baby wipes, soap and water) and only used the Penthouse Brand spankin' toy cleaner when I absolutely had to. Now when I use it there's a definite sticky residue left over. It's gotten to the point to where I don't use it if i can absolutely avoid it, since the next time I go to play I basically have to re-clean the toy with soap and water. I really only honestly use it because I'm a bit of a germ-o-phobe and it makes me feel better about not getting up out of bed in a post orgasmic haze to clean my toys :P.
The bottle itself either has a very ill fitting cap or is cracked somewhere near the top, because I've had to store this little bottle in a ziploc bag to avoid getting the inside of my toybox and various packaging wet. Every time I pull the bag out the inside is wet as if it was sprayed inside.
Once it's gone I won't re-purchase. If you plan to use it quickly (like, within a month), then it'd be an ok buy. It cleans like it's supposed to, but in my experience you're probably better off buying something else.
