The lovely smell is the high point to this oil. It did not work as well as it was advertised for conditioning either skin or tattoos, was not a great personal lube if certain toys were used, and is difficult to remove completely. A long lasting massage oil, fresh lavender aroma and easy glide over the skin was right on target, along with the long lasting glide of silicone. For me, it is not worth the trouble but for you?

Cons
--Dries skin --Non-absorbing --Soap and water needed for removal
The company claims this is a 3-in-1 oil and is a massage oil, skin conditioner, tattoo conditioner and brightener and personal lubricant. I found that the multiple claims were a bit over the top--but some of their suggestions were right on target.
This oil will brighten your tattoo, making it glisten and shine. It does work as a silicone lubricant with glass or plastic toys and does work well in water. It has a longer slippery glide than the lower end silicone lubes. And it is a great massage oil with a fresh but relaxing aroma.
It did not condition my skin or tattoo, but made my skin feel drier than it did before the oil was applied. The oil did not absorb very well, which did help in massages and water play, but not for feeling soft and silky afterwards. It is not recommended to be used on silicone, cyberskin or other soft materials for toys. You have to wash it off prior to using these toys or take the chance of damaging the finish and material.
It does work well for lubricating moving parts on sewing machines, printers and other items that need an occasional oiling.
The oil feels slick and smooth on your skin and provides a good, sleek glide. This oil is perfect for massages and will not overwork your hands from the friction of skin on skin. The oil has the odd dryness of a silicone and the sleek smoothness of a lube. The thinner consistency does ensure easy pouring--too easy the first time I used it!--but it does not stay in place, so be prepared to smooth it into the area where it is applied immediately.
The feel of the oil gliding across your skin is pleasant and the aroma is very light but relaxing. It has a fresh scent that compliments the massage. For use in water, silicone is perfect. It is not water soluble and does need to be cleaned with soap as well. I did not get any conditioning on my skin, but a dry, almost rough feel afterwards. I do not know if it is my body chemistry or the oil, but it did make my skin feel rougher than it did prior to application.
I would not recommend tasting this item, the silicone will leave a coating in your mouth that is very difficult to remove. Trust me--I have made this mistake before!! It is a difficult ordeal to get the silicone coating off the roof of your mouth and the tongue---just nasty!
The aroma is pleasant, but it reminds me more of fresh lavender, rather than a dried lavender. The difference is the slightly musty tones that dried flowers often accrue. The fresher scent of live flowers was a very refreshing change and I will keep using the bottle until it is gone only because I love the scent! It lasts a reasonable amount of time, but is not like a perfume, it will not last for hours.
I would also take caution to make sure the oil is removed or absorbed prior to putting your clothing back on or laying down on your good bedding. I always use an old blanket for oils, since they do stain most material. This oil is no exception. I got it on a corset and now my corset looks...well, stained. Sad day for me, it was one of my favorites!
When used for massages, use a small, dime sized amount. This will cover a larger area and allow for about a 45 minute massage. (Wonderful for me when I am getting the massage, bad for my hands when it is my hubby's turn.) The aroma will last on our skin for about another 30-45 minutes or until washed off with soap and water. And yes, you must use soap and water!
As a waterproof lube it did last for about 20 minutes, and probably longer but we got out of the tub and it was washed off prior to getting out due to the toys we wanted to use. This made my skin feel kind of rough and dry on both types of usage, and I ended up applying a lotion to counteract the dry almost rough feel.
Packaged in a 1 oz. see-through bottle with a pop top dispenser, System JO claims it will last as long as 10 ounces of other lubes. I did not find this to be accurate in our experiences. I was able to get 9-10 massages and three tub times worth of use. The Kama Sutra oils have definitely lasted much longer--using a comparable amount.
ingredients: Cyclotetrasiloxane, Dimethiconol, Dimethicone,(Lavender Oil is also added for scent)
Follow-up commentaryI don't like it anymore12 months after original review
I do enjoy the smell of my massages, and the fact that I get another lotion rub afterwards, but the dry feeling of my skin is not something I can just ignore. It has that silicone feel that just is not making me feel soft and sexy....
