Way Better Than Junk Mail Catalogues

All in all, this isn't so much a catalogue as it is a Toy Guide. Catalogues are generally whole inventories, sent out so that you can buy directly from them--this is a guide to the best toys of the year.

People ingrained into the Eden community will recognize most--if not all--of the toys inside, as many of them are our tried and true favorites! Seeing this for what it is: a guide to inform people about Eden and toys, I think this is tops.

extremely useful review
The 2012 Eden Catalogue (or, as it's titled on the first page: Sex Toy Guide 2012) is a great piece of educational literature. It's more than just a catalogue meant to sell items, it also serves as an educational material by teaching about materials and safety features.

The cover is simple, reading, "Sexy, Healthy, Smart, Fun, Open, Social, Playful, Intimate, Unique, Empowering," along with "Edenfantasys 2012 Catalogue." The former refers to not only the toys Eden sells, but also the community here: we ARE sexy, we ARE smart, we ARE playful.

The first two pages are a spread explaining, basically, what you'll find inside this guide, as well as some info about Eden. Brandmania (the hottest, sexiest brands), Materials Guide, Eden Playground (discovering Eden's features), and Hot Features (all time favorites) are all mentioned.

The next two pages talk about all the awesome stuff Eden has going on, from EdenTube to Reviews, from the Forums to EdenClubs (Eden Gives Back, Eden Lives Healthy, Eden Photography and the Birthday Club are mentioned specifically). It also has QR codes for EdenCafe and Sexis magazine, and the Facebook and Twitter contact info for Eden's features.

The next two pages feature three of our lovely staff members (Ilya, Jaimes and Rachel) along with the contact telephone number for customer service (888-506-5516) and the Twitter account for customer service (@EFCustomerCare) with the blurb, "Questions? We are here to help you." Also in this section is a bit about the EdenPoints program and the free gifts with orders.

Following this section, we get into the toys.

Page seven features toys that are "Fun in Water" bestselling waterproof vibrators, and page eight shows powerhouse toys.

Pages nine and ten show whisper quiet toys, and toys to tickle the g-spot.

Eleven features dual action vibrators, while twelve shows the pleasure candy: mini massagers for external stimulation.

After that, we see the discreet treats and the massagers.

Fifteen and sixteen show the Love Muscle section, which has your Kegel exercisers, and the "essentials" (toy cleaners and wipes, condoms and lubricants).

Next up is two pages just for men, showcasing onp-spot play, as well as sleeves and masturbators, followed by two pages on toys made for couples play, showing vibrators made for two, cock rings, massage candles and more.

Right after that, pages twenty-one and twenty-two show products of sensual indulgence, massage sets, feather teasers and oils grace these pages.

Then we have gift ideas, which is a bit of everything; luxury vibrators, glass toys, discreet vibrators--all items that have a "wow" factor.

Jopen's Vanity line gets a shoutout next, with a two page spread showing six of their toys, and touting their benefits (rechargeable, intense, incremental speed control, premium silicone). This page also has a QR code so you can shop and browse.

Zini isn't left out, either, four of their products are featured in this Brandmania exposé with details about their dual motor, silent systems and waterproof prowess.

Je Joue and JimmyJane share pages 29 and 30, showing off four of each of their products--we see vibrators, g-spot toys and Kegel exercisers here.

As if we'd leave FunFactory out of the mix, they're featured on pages 31 and 32, showing off their G4 Loop of Love vibes, with the Click N Charge technology; this page, too, has a QR code.

The last two pages show off the material guide, with brief notes about the best material (Silicone), green materials (glass, metal, wood and ceramic), good materials (plastic, thermoplastic rubbers and elastomers) and some chat about what the heck are phthalates, and why they're gross.

The back cover features a blonde woman in a Coquette corset, along with Eden's address, and a box for an address. It says that the postage has been paid, so if you were inclined, you could probably drop this in the mail and send it to a friend (just tape it closed so it's not flapping around the post office.
Experience
The only downside to this manual is that it has nothing about pegging, or gender play. No harnesses were featured, nor any dildos. You're missing out on a whole section of the toy-buying community, Eden!

This may have been done as a preventative to claims of distributing "pornography" (if these were to be snail-mailed) but since they're included with orders, I have to wonder why they were left out.
Follow-up commentary
It was a good catalogue, but it's already outdated! I think it would be a good intro to the community, but for someone that spends a lot of time on here already, this catalogue is just repeating the stuff we know.

the catalogue is a good intro for those who've never been exposed to toys before, but there is soooo much more out there that they may never know about!

    You're welcome!

Yep, no dildos or harnesses (maybe to appeal to a broader audience?) were included, but there is a lot of other cool stuff!
