The ultimate hand book for any woman
The V Book is one of the best things for anyone that was born female. It's a very intelligent break down of how the female body works and how to keep it healthy though out a lifetime.
Published:
Pros
informative, detailed, well written
Cons
wish this was out when I was 18
Sometimes there are books that we all should have had in school, either high school or college. It's the kind of book that when you finish reading it you think to yourself, "why didn't I know about this before? Why didn't I have this box xxxx years ago?" You all know the kind of book I am talking about. It doesn't have to be about anything special, but it just has to hit you that you should have known this years ago. It could be about history, art, music, science or even sex.
The V Book is one of those books that when I finished reading it, I really wished I had read it years and years ago. I wish I had this book back in high school, but it came out in 2002 and that was well after I graduated.
The V Book is written by Elizabeth G. Stewart MD. She doesn't dumb down anything that she is talking about. She is writing for very intelligent people who care about the female body and how it works. She writes in great detail how the vulva works and all the parts that are there, even the little ones that we don't know much about. She even explains the evolutionary reason for some of those little parts.
Stewart also writes about how to take care of the vulva and vagina, from care to cleaning. Even about ways to keep clean and healthy when shaving. There is even detail on how to find a gynecologist that works the best for you.
She also writes about how things will work through different stages of life and how to deal with it. There is also a huge section on health and different illnesses that can be caught and what they do and how to see them. She even talks about allergies and what to look for with that.
Gods, I wish I had this book when I turned 18 years ago. Think of picking up another copy of it for my niece who is turning 18 very soon.

15 months after original review
I have actually picked up a few copies of The V Book to pass out to other female friends and some that are just coming into their sexuality.
