The Smart Couple's Guide to the G spot
This book should be on the shelf of anyone who knows, loves, or is friends with a woman. It covers everything you could want to know about the G spot and has the potential to unleash new levels of pleasure for single women and couples. While the cover isn't discreet, you'll want to leave it in the bedroom where the erotic stories and techniques will be most useful anyway.

The Smart Girl's Guide to the G-spot is a 129 page paperback book written by Violet Blue and published by Cleis Press. The book was written as a very basic introduction to all things G spot from how to find it, stroke it, introduce G spot play to your partner, and what kinds of tools and toys will help you orgasm from it. While the cover says it is the smart "girl's" guide, I think this book would be an excellent read for couples, or even any partner (male or female) who wants to learn how to stimulate their partner's G spot.
The tone of the book feels like you are talking to a hip, young sex educator from your sex shop or Planned Parenthood down the street. It is informative, clear, concise, and easy to understand. Violet's writing style is sex positive and written in a way where you feel like there is no such thing as a stupid question. I think I would call the book open and embracing because she covers all the bases be they same sex partners or not, BDSM, anal play, solo or couple play, safe sex practices, oral sex, where to shop, fisting, how to female ejaculate, and more. There wasn't an area I had questions about that she didn't cover and the topics she covered even gave me ideas I hadn't thought of yet. The entire book has a very experiential and anatomically based perspective as opposed to a spiritual perspective, which I really like. (Nothing wrong with spiritual or religious sex books, they just aren't for me).
The chapter layout is as follows:
1 (1-14) -Get Smart: What's the big deal about G spot orgasms, what is the G spot, G spot myths, the male P spot
2 (15-28) -What's Inside a Girl: Black and white anatomical drawings of female anatomy, what it looks like, how to find it
3 (29-50) -Turn it on, Turn it up: Female arousal cycle, how to stimulate your G spot, lubes, erotic story
4 (51-74) -G spots are for Sharing: Talking about it with your partner, strap on use, positions for G spotting, erotic story
5 (75-94) -Wet spots-ejaculation: What is ejaculate, how to ejaculate (or how not to), dealing with the wet spots, erotic story
6 (95-118) -Faster, Deeper, More!: G spot & vibrators, G spot & anal sex, G spot & oral sex, G spot & BDSM, G spot & fisting, erotic story
7 (119-129) -Shopping and Further Study: Online shopping, safe sex, additional resources
I found this to be an incredibly quick read. I was able to finish it in 3 days reading about 20-25 minutes a session. I will definitely be going back to reread it with my partner though because there are some amazing sections about partner play with the G spot, especially Chapters 3 and 6. (If I wasn't comfortable talking to him, page 53-58 give loads of advice about how to bring it up new play and G spot play to a partner.) So, page 59 has a very detailed description of a vulva/G spot massage that sounds like a wonderful warm up for play. Page 62 goes into the details of using a strap on. Also, page 65 begins information about good positions to reach the G spot. Chapter 6 is also ideal for reading with a partner because it is here that Violet really dives into oral/anal/BDSM/etc. topics that involve your partner, and I can't think of a better way to discuss what we both want than using this book to discuss new techniques and talk about what we'd each like to incorporate into play. And as an after thought, the erotica stories are pretty hot and I think my partner and I might like to read those together too!
On to what you really want to know...did you find your G spot?!? Yes, her pictures (I wish there were more) and written descriptions did help me find that magic little pleasure point. Thanks to this book, I know how to find it, types of strokes to use on it, how to get my partner involved, and what kinds of toys, and positions will help me get there the easiest.

Experience
(cont.)
I haven't had a G spot orgasm yet but I think I have been putting an amazing amount of pressure on myself to find it and get there and experience this crazy, Earth quaking, mind blowing, wet, wild adventure. Violet made a good point here that #1- You need to relax and do what feels good for your body because even if you don't come, it's important to enjoy the ride. And #2- Not every woman likes G spot stimulation and if you don't it's not a big deal because at least you went there and figured that out for yourself.
I think there are times I somehow feel less than because I don't have the magic code to the G spot orgasm and this book has reminded me that it's not about the destination, it's about the journey. So, I am going to reread this book with my partner, pull out my Liberator wedge and Bent Graduate, which I will hand to him, and I am going to lay back and enjoy the ride!
