In the Introduction, Anne Hooper explains that this little book is designed as "a pillow book," or a little guide book to keep by your bed to dip into for something fun; it is "not intended as a deadly serious sex manual."
She also warns that sex is best when it's done with an open mind.
This book is not meant to be read cover to cover; instead, you're supposed to flip through and stop on a picture or heading that piques your interest. It is also meant for people who are new to sex, who are in a rut, or have never experienced "fun" sex. If you're using toys, blindfolds, or food in your sex life already, this book probably won't have a lot to offer you.
Pros:
*It's tiny, so you can hide it in a drawer or behind a pillow, even stash it in most purses or suitcases, with little trouble.
*While it's really only designed for hetro couples, the photos depict women of various ethnicities with natural looking bodies. Most of the women would probably be considered thin (at least a couple have what I would call "soft bellies"), but all sorts of natural breast and nipple shapes and colors are depicted.
*I also felt that the ages of women was pretty representative. The models seem to range in age from mid-twenties to mid-forties.
*Suggestions range from very mild to erotica for beginners. Examples:
From "Seduction": Feed each other finger foods; gaze at each other as you eat and play footsie under the table.
From "In The Mood": Pay your partner breathless compliments during foreplay. Tell him how sexy he is and how turned on you feel; Wash her feet in the bath and then suck lingeringly on each toe in turn; Pg 66 has step by step instructions for performing a Sexy Strip Tease
From "Loving Him": Learn how to tease his balls, perform oral sex, or perform the "Thai Massage"
Later chapters explore "exploring her," toys, mild BDSM and role play, and playing with food.
Cons:
*Most of these suggestions are very common, things that you can see in any rated R romantic comedy.
*There are some suggestions that may be dangerous, but the danger is never discussed. For example, in the "Thai Massage" soap and oil will most likely get into the vagina as part of play. For some women, this could cause nasty side effects; also, soap, oil, and condoms don't often mix well.
Also, there are suggestions to swirl ice cream, honey, and frozen juice around the genitals, to use mashed fruit as lubricant, and to use carrots and cucumbers as dildos. There is no mention of washing the veggies first or putting condoms over them for safety. There is also no discussion of the possible side effects of sugars entering the vagina.

Experience
While most of the ideas in this book were common sense or things we've already tried, some ideas were new to us. I never would have thought to create a pineapple cock-ring that I could nibble off as part foreplay. And who thinks to "play doctor" as adults? If nothing else, the book serves as a quick reminder that sex can be fun.
