sometimes slow moving
"Satisfaction: The Art of the Female Orgasm" is not quite what I was expecting. I actually purchased this book as a gift for my best friend, who was getting married at the time. This was part of her bachelorette party gift. She is a person who is pretty wild and experimental in bed, and this book was at the top of her wish list, despite it being different than what we expected.
This book is full of detailed illustrations done in a soft, sepia toned pencil style, which is perfect for people who might be prudish about the human forms but still want to have a sexual instruction manual on their bedroom shelf. Overall, they are very tasteful illustrations.
Most of the book is about how to pleasure a female orally, making this book great for men and women alike, but there are also sections on penetration. It is not so much about exploring as a couple, since it tends to be a "how to" on pleasuring "one" and not both people involved. That said, this book could easily bring a couple closer if the techniques used were practiced on each other! After all, you can alter recipes in a cookbook, so you can also alter moves in a sex book.
Overall, the "art" portion of this piece is taken seriously. Everything is written and displayed in order to be an art piece, and also to get you to see this as an art form. This will be a helpful mindset if you are already an artist, like a painter or a piano player, but even if you're clueless on making art, you can become an artist in giving and achieving the female orgasm with this book. The concepts might be basic and almost too easy for some.
Even if you are not a fan of Kim Cattrall, you may still enjoy this book.

How did the partner stuff look? Would it be useful to someone with a bit of experience, or mostly for the completely inexperienced?
