Sit on it, Mrs. C.
This book is a great gag gift or something fun to flip through with your friends. Some of the positions are repeated with differing crazy names. The authors are up-front about the fact that some of the positions are impossible and that they began collecting them for the purpose of designing fun names. The illustrations are vague and hard to decipher at times. Overall, a fun gag gift but not something you should be interested in if you're looking for serious sex advice.

Pros
Fun gag gift
Cons
Not a "how-to" sex manual
This book was given to me as a gag gift, and it serves that purpose well. The book contains 365 illustrated pictures of sex positions, one for each day of the year. The authors, Em and Lo from Nerve.com, warn you in the Introduction that "a third of them are impossible anyway" and "we're just providing the raw material for your own interpretation." In other words, take the positions in this book with a grain of salt. You should probably just reinterpret or reconfigure the impossible ones and make them possible!
The illustrations are just outlines of people that make it very difficult to discern the specifics of each position; especially the more complicated and entangled ones. A couple of the positions are repeated, but with a different background or a name-change. However, the authors did also warn that when they started this project, they did it mostly for the fun of making up crazy names.
The names probably are the most entertaining part about this book, and range from things like the title of my review, to "The Fire Hydrant" to "Octopussy" to "Santa's Helper" (fittingly on December 25th!). The names do vaguely correspond to the positions themselves and it’s fun to examine them and try to figure out why they were named that way. Or even try to come up with new, crazy names of your own.
The book is fun to flip through and go "oh my god" at some of the crazy positions that obviously can't really be done, and the ones where you can't really tell exactly what's going on. It would be a fun book to pass around to your friends or to give as a gag gift. It isn't a book suited for practical purposes. If you are looking for serious advice about new sex positions to try, or how to have "better" sex, then this isn't the book for you.
