Red Velvet and Absinthe-- Short stories with a celestial twist.

If you like reading Gothic erotica books that are so detailed and so good you won't want to put them down, this is the book for you. With lots of lust, love, teasing, passion, and need, it doesn't take much effort for your imagination to visualize each individual story from the beginning.

One of my favorite things about this book, aside from the sensual Gothic erotica, would have to be the supernatural creatures thrown into the mix. I've always loved stories about vampires, werewolves, ghosts, and other such celestial creatures. Each of these short stories leaves you wanting to find out which will be in that story. Leaving little clues here and there. Who will turn out to be supernatural? Who wants to join the supernatural? These stories used so much detail it made me feel like I was actually there, looking in on the passion and lust, hearing the eerie sounds in the night, desire leaving them begging for more... Imagine otherworldly partners who unleash passion and desire far beyond anything that has ever been attempted to achieve by any ordinary mortal partner they had been with, causing some to fall in love, others merely craving that lust for eternity...

One of my favorite stories is called "Cover Him in Darkness" and it's by Janine Ashbless. In this story, a young woman named Milja is told of a family secret that has been carefully guarded over the years. They are the caretakers of a man who cannot remember who he is after having been kept chained to a rock in the deep dark depths of the mountain through a long, dark tunnel with one entrance at the back of the small town's church that nobody else has discovered. She has some suspicion about his identity, but you will have to read to find that out. The pain and sorrow of the man as she brings him bread and water causes her to feel bad and curiosity of the young woman leads to actions he has not experienced in a very long time....

Another favorite is The Blood Moon Kiss by Mitzi Szereto. It takes place on the set of a popular tv show about vampires. But here's the twist. The main character doesn't need make up to play the part. So much seduction and teasing and lust, shores of the beaches where she stands begging for more... Should he allow it to happen?

You are going to have to read the book to find out.

These stories were all fabulous, I thought, but they only included 1 story with a female same sex couple, and I think they should have thrown in a few more. Other than that, no complaints here.
Experience
I love reading, but if a book doesn't catch my interest I can't really get into it. I couldn't put this book down and I catch myself picking up the book before bed to read a story or two, that's how good I thought this book was.
