Please Don't Rub Me With Papayas

"The 100 Best Foreplay Tips Ever" is definitely not an exaggeration. This little book is PACKED with ideas for foreplay with every part of the body, from the hair all the way down to the toes. While the design is cute, some of the text is a bit difficult to read when it is placed over different colors. Overall, though, any couple will benefit from reading through this once.

The 100 Best Foreplay Tips Ever, by Lisa Sussman, is a cute and informative book. It is hard cover with 96 un-numbered pages. This measures out to be 5 3/4 inches tall by 4 inches wide, so it’s pretty discreetly sized. On the front cover, there is a picture of pink panties with the title of the book over them. In the background, there are panty shapes in a light blue over teal. The back of the book offers a small introduction to the book as well as a small biography on the author.

The pages are pretty sturdy. To me, they feel pretty close to poster board. Each page is loaded with plenty of colors, tips, and small images relating to the tip. Some tips are not much longer than a line or two and some are a couple of pages of bullets. Shorter tips are put together on a page with other short tips. The text seems a bit small and difficult to read, especially when it is black text paired with a darker colored background, like purple.

This is divided into five sections, which I will summarize:

Section one is, “Warm Up Moves.” Each of the suggestions under this section is in the realm of kissing, massaging, or other means of turning a partner on. For example, complimenting a partner, nibbling on his or her neck, and passing them handcuffs under the table while out for dinner can all work to help get them in the mood for some action. Tip 18 states that women need at least 15 minutes of foreplay before they are ready for sex and goes on to list some ideas for turning her on.

Section two is, “Lose Your Senses.” This is all about stimulating senses, including sound, taste, and touch. Some are very helpful, such as how to talk dirty to your partner, though some I found a little unsexy. The idea of rubbing myself and my partner all over with a sticky fruit to lick off/rub against each other with sounds a little messy and uncomfortable to me. I liked the list of different scents that turn on both men and women, including cinnamon buns, pumpkin pie, vanilla, lavender, and licorice. This section is pretty short, with only two pages for each sense. Each sense has a tip of its own, though all of them actually have several different ideas listed.

Section three is, “Feeling Feverish.” These are all about pressing your partner’s buttons and moving them closer to orgasm. There are tips such as toe sucking and different areas to massage or kiss. Places like the inside of elbows, behind the knees, between the chin and throat, and on the palms of the hands all have tips on how to kiss or touch in order to fully stimulate the nerves. This section is the most useful to me, since I already know my partner well enough to turn him on. This section lets me know tons of different places I have never played with before, as well as some ideas as to how to play with him.
Section four is, “Spicy hot, hot, hot.” This section introduces shaving techniques as well as watching porn together, using sex toys, and temperature play. There is some information on using food, though it seemed a bit repetitive to me, since the second section’s tips on taste already covered that. I feel those should have been moved to that section and combined with what was already there. One tip says men like to be handled rougher than women and enjoy having their nipples pinched and being spanked. The last two tips briefly touch on the idea of bondage and blindfolding.

Section five is, “Melt-down Moves.” These seem to be ideas to use with the last few minutes of foreplay, before the action turns to intercourse. There are different ideas for playing with the penis, testicles, clitoris, labia and breasts. One tip also discusses how to use your whole body to pleasure your partner, which makes it feel more like a threesome. The last tips in this section explain how to determine if a partner is approaching orgasm, how to get them there, and how to keep on going.

Overall, this book is a pretty interesting read, even if it is only good for one read-through. I don’t feel I will be referring to it much. I do think this could make a good gift at a bachelorette party or just as a gift to a close friend. While the audience of this book is supposed to be heterosexual couples, I think any couple could enjoy a good amount of this book. There really are ideas for everyone in here.
Follow-up commentary
I honestly forgot I even had this book for a while. I had it stored away under my bed with some other books and just recently flipped through it a little bit again. "I don't like it anymore" is a little strong for my opinion of this, but I don't exactly love it. I'm more close to, "Eh." I'm sure quite a bit of the stuff in this book I could have figured out on my own if I felt like being a little imaginative.
