Please Don't Disturb Me...

Anonymous sex in a room where countless others have had hot, sweaty anonymous sex. There is something iconic about Hotel rooms, don't we all wish the furnishings could talk, whisper erotic stories in our ears about the goings on in this very room? Here then, is a book that could very well be those stories...close your eyes for a moment and picture yourself laying on the bed listening to these stories being whispered by the walls...

About author

Do Not Disturb is a compendium of hot stories about sex in hotels edited by Rachel Kramer Bussel. There are 20 authors, including Ms. Bussel, some of whom were new to me and some of whom I was glad to meet again! Amanda Earl, Alison Tyler, Stan Kent, Andrea Dale, Tess Danesi, Isabelle Gray, Madlyn March, Lillian Ann Slugocki, Saskia Walker, Gwen Masters, Kristina Wright, Shanna Germain, Thomas S. Roche, Teresa Noelle Roberts, Maxim Jakubowski, Lisabet Sarai, Elizabeth Coldwell, Tenille Brown, Donna George Storey and of course Rachel Kramer Bussel all contributed too, making this one of the hottest reads I can remember! Each of the authors has a short blurb at the end of the book detailing some of their other work and in some cases an email address where you can learn more or contact the authors.

Content / Style / Audience

This book is for everyone who has ever wondered what goes on in the nearly anonymous confines of a hotel room. The stories in this book range from mildly erotic to panty scorching. There is something for just about every voyeur, regardless of their sexual orientation or the depth of their voyeurism. In this book are stories about couples looking to spice things up like in "Mirror, Mirror" by Andrea Dale and "Tropical Grotto, Winter Storm" by Teresa Noelle Roberts. We meet lonely travelers making a connection in "From Russia With Lust" by Stan Kent, and "The Lunch Break" by Saskia Walker. Some of the stories touch on how couples might set up and handle threeway and group sex. "The Royalton -A Daray Tale" by Tess Danesi illustrates a tale of Dominance and submission woven into an experience the heroine will not soon forget. There are two stories about men who are so out of touch with their female partners that only another woman can show her what she's missing. It sounds corny but each of the authors handles this topic with style and sensitivity, and the stories are HAWT! Check out "Heart-Shaped Holes" by Madlyn March and "The Other Woman" by Kristina Wright and I think you'll agree.
There are stories of married people stepping out in "Memphis" by Gwen Masters and "Guilty Pleasure" by Elizabeth Coldwell.

The author, Lillian Ann Slugocki skillfully leads her readers through a story of incredible sex in the 1890s and the twist at the end of the story "The St. George Hotel, 1890" left this reader shaking her head and almost breathless!

Stories about Master's and slaves, voyeurism at its incredible best, wild orgiastic sex. This book has it all!

Two stories in particular caught my attention and merit special mention. The first is a story of falling in love in another country, "So Simple A Place" by Isabelle Gray recounts one woman's experiences in Tokyo, Japan. The second is a story of a man's love for his mentally ill wife and the lengths he is willing to go to show his love to her; "Talking Dirty" by Shanna Germain.

The writing styles are varied and high quality, something I have come to expect from Cleis Press. Rachel Kramer Bussel throws her hat into the ring with the story "Hump Day". This scorching story is all about what should be done with a Wednesday!

Design

This is actually one of the more discreet book covers I've seen to date from Cleiss Press. The title "Do No Disturb" is clearly visible but less visible is the rest of the title "Hotel Sex Stories". The picture on the cover is a slice of a hotel room, generic and plain, and a woman's legs. She is apparently asleep or perhaps waiting for her lover. It could easily be the cover for a murder mystery novel or a romance novel. It might not be safe for work but reading in a restaurant or park should be fine. This won't raise eyebrows if it's left on a bedside table or coffee table.

The book is paperback and the same high quality construction that Cleiss Press is known for. With proper care, this book should grace a bookshelf for many years.

The layout is intuitive and flows properly from the Table of Contents through the Introduction to the first story, after the last story are a few pages filled with short paragraphs about each author with the editor getting her own page and much more in-depth bio. This set up makes it wonderful if you find an author you simply adore and want to read more from, or if you just want to drop them a line about their work.
    • Fairly discreet cover
    • Soft cover
    • Well made
Follow-up commentary
This book has disappeared from my bookshelf, yet again! I almost feel like an erotic lending library. This book seems to appeal to many different people male or female.

It's funny, but I've never looked at hotel rooms that way before. I mean I've had sex in one hotel room once, but I never thought about the others before me... Yup, it's sexy. Great review.
