Not Recommended for Spiritual Skeptics
If you are already comfortable with your own body and are a skeptic when it comes to spirituality, I would recommend giving this a pass.
If you are considering purchasing this, please read the 5 star reviews by aliceinthehole and purpleladybug, since they both loved this DVD. You may well have more in common with them than with me, and if so, I wish you much enjoyment.

I had read some positive reviews on this DVD set, and I wanted to try it. I enjoy masturbation and enjoy my body, and was interested to see if I could improve it. I knew the DVD had spiritual content, and was curious to see if it would still be useful to a skeptic like me, who does not believe in things like stored birth trauma, chakras, and other spiritual content. Would it be a useful guide to a confirmed skeptic?
Short answer: It would not.
Slightly longer answer: If you're a spiritual skeptic, but are inexperienced with masturbation or have any sort of physical or mental difficulties with self-pleasure, it probably would still be useful.
The set up of this started with making masturbation into this massive production. Things were suggested like setting the mood by using satin sheets. Yeah... right. I'm totally not going to change the sheets before I pleasure myself. Changing the sheets is work. Masturbation is play. I do not want to do a lot of work before I get to playtime.
The part that really lost me was during all this changing of sheets and lighting of candles, the narrator said, "This is a great time to set an intention. An intention can be anything you want to get out of the experience. Maybe you want clarity about something that is happening in your life."
What?
Seriously, what?
Call me simple minded, but my "intention" when I pleasure myself is pleasure.
I tried to get back into it after that. The actress was a pretty woman with long blonde hair, a slim build and a completely shaven pussy. She was also wearing very obvious makeup, which detracted a bit from the idea that this was a natural session of self-pleasure. I know makeup is required for filming, even if the character is supposed to be barefaced, but there are ways to make a girl look like she isn't wearing makeup, and they didn't go with that. A picky complaint? Probably. But the fact that I was nitpicking shows I just couldn't get into it.
The session started with some shaking of the body to get the blood flowing and the body warmed up. This seemed like a good idea, and is one of the only two things I've started using in my own self-pleasure sessions. The other thing was the idea of calling masturbation "lovemaking". It isn't dirty or shameful. It's making love to oneself. And why would it be wrong to do that?
After the warmup, the next phase was deep breathing and relaxation. And this was followed by contracting and relaxing the base chakra in the tantra, high in the vagina on the back wall. This was supposed to work at sexually awakening the body and spirit. There were some nearly gynecological close-ups here, where it looked to me that the poor girl was anything but aroused. I'm a straight girl, and have never seen a woman's pussy close up. My judgment could be completely wrong, but her inner labia were completely closed up. Her clitoris was barely visible. There was no dampness. No reddening of the skin. No swelling. It didn't seem to be turning her on at all.
Well, okay, there were lights and cameras and everything, I thought. I'll give her some more time.
It was another 20 minutes at least before I saw a teeny tiny bit of moisture in the vulva area, and not until she was stimulating her clitoris. So, as far as I could tell, all the build up till this - the satin sheets and the intentions and the chakras and all of the spiritualism - didn't turn the girl on, but touching her clitoris did.
You know what? I didn't need a DVD to teach me that.
After all of that negativity, I feel obligated to point out that this is a joyful, self-positive, woman friendly production with high production values. And I also do not mean to show disrespect for people who are spiritual. I know spirituality can add a lot to a person's life, but that lifestyle and this DVD both are not for me.
On the technical side, I live in the UK, and had no difficulty viewing this DVD, so it does not appear to be region rated. That's always a plus.

Experience
I put off doing this review for a long time, because I felt I should watch the rest of the DVD in order to give it an honest review. But I finally decided that this is an honest review. I'm a viewer who is already quite experienced with masturbation, and doesn't buy into the spiritual concepts presented. I simply did not enjoy it enough to finish viewing it.
Follow-up commentary
2 months after original review
The only time I reach for this DVD is to use it as a size cue in photos of sex toys I'm reviewing. I have no interest at all in watching it again.

Great review...thanks!

Absolutely excellent review---I really appreciate the skeptic's perspective, and I would have gotten the same experience from this DVD that you did. Thanks so much for putting it up to counterbalance the others---the non-spiritual among us need to know what to buy, too!
