Not at the Top, Not at the Bottom
This is considered one of the essential books for learning about BDSM. It does include a lot of great information you should know if you're a beginner - but only if you're a beginner. If you've been doing BDSM for awhile, you may want to look for a different book. For beginners, it's great though.
Published:
Pros
Good basics, gender inclusive, formal language, short stories, interesting, lots of topics.
Cons
It's just the basics, doesn't include safety information.
Experience
Read most of the book during classes. It's very professionally written.

The New Bottoming book is still a neat little book that I've kept in my collection. I never go back to re-read it, but I've offered it out to new BDSM friends to read if they are interested in the submissive side of BDSM. EF is thinking about carrying The New Topping Book too, so I'm looking forward to picking that up as well.
The book has withstood multiple reads and sitting on my bookshelf without any sort of problem. Despite being paperback, there isn't any obvious "I've read this" lines on the spine of the book. The pages aren't yellowing either. Still looks as nice as the day we got it.
