The Housewife's Guide to the Practical Striptease is an easy to read 60 page book. It offers plenty of information aimed at getting the most fun out of your striptease. With tips from strippers on subjects such as lapdances, you can really plan your routine out comfortably and perfectly. However, this book is aimed at heterosexual couples, so may not be useful for others.

extremely useful review
While I am not a housewife, this book caught my interest. I’d like to be able to do a striptease for my boyfriend without feeling silly and look like I know what I am doing. With any book, it really is a hit-or-miss, and for $9, this one was worth a read.

The Housewife’s Guide to the Practical Striptease is a 60 page paperback written and published by Miyoko Fujimori. It measures 6 inches tall by 5 inches wide, so it is a pretty small book. The book’s cover and pages are designed in a 50s or 60s retro look. Most of the pages have at least one cartoon image of a woman doing various things following along with the text. I feel that images of an actual woman may have been more helpful, but the images in the book work pretty well, especially with their placement around the text. The font is clear and easy to read.

I feel this book covers strip teasing pretty well. There are plenty of tips for each step of your routine, from the outfit, shaving techniques, and music to all of the different moves. The author also has sections on self-esteem and how a striptease helps to nurture your sexuality. I loved her first section, which is about the male fantasy involving strippers and strip teases. That part really helps to get you into a can-do mood, since she talks about merging both of a man’s fantasies, stripping and the woman in his life.
Also placed in with the text are little tips, such as different products to use while shaving and ideas like leaving the remote control with him so he starts the music for your routine. In some parts of the book, there are also strippers giving their opinions on different subjects, including lap dances and getting over the shyness of your first striptease.

The Table of Contents lists:
Chapter 1: The Fantasy
- Why men love strippers
- How do we compete?
- Why we love to strip

Chapter 2: Getting Started
- Choosing your attire
- Personal hygiene
- Choosing the music
- Music to strip by
- Lighting and props

Chapter 3: The Moves
- The walk, the hair toss, and the look
- Floor work
- Lap dancing
Chapter 4: Getting Your Groove On
- Learning to love yourself

Chapter 5: That’s It!

Chapter 6: A New Perspective

Chapter 7: What Not To Do

I feel this book is organized perfectly. The suggestions fit right in with the rest of the text and really help you to get your own ideas. The music section lists different songs you can strip to, which are categorized by costumes, such as animal or nurse/doctor. The tone she uses is that you are sexy, you can do it, and it’s all about you. I also love how she mentions that you will NOT be able to just read this and go strip, you need to think about how you want to do it, figure out your outfit and music, and then practice. I have yet to actually do my first striptease, both from nervousness and a lack of time to actually plan one out.

The only real downside to this book is that it is aimed at a woman, particularly a housewife, stripping for her man. There isn’t really anything useful for a man stripping for a woman or even a man stripping for another man. A woman looking to strip for another woman may be able to use a good amount of the book, though some sections, like lap dancing, may not be as helpful.

Overall, I feel this book was pretty helpful. As I stated, this isn’t going to make you instantly ready for your first striptease, though it does help you to plan yours out perfectly. The book has an excellent tone about strip teasing. It really should be more about you than whoever is watching your routine. For $9, this is definitely worth it.
Follow-up commentary
I still like this book, even though I never actually went through with my strip tease or anything. I guess I kind of chickened out. I'm hoping to maybe figure something out some time. Still, though, this book gave me a clear idea of what exactly I need to plan out and how I would figure out my routine.
