Mysterious, Confusing, & Sexy
Tranceptors are a class of badass BDSM / Jedi / Ninja-esque females, that wear PVC and leave a path of sex and devastation everywhere they go… and they travel around in human-pony pulled carts.

Pros
Giant lizard man sex!
Cons
The story is vague and confusing, but it doesn’t matter.
So far this story seems to pick up right in the middle of events that you do not fully understand, but are already in progress. It focuses on two Tranceptors who belong to something called The Sisterhood. The Tranceptors seem to be revered in an almost Jedi sort of manor. Apparently they were both part of a deceptive plot against The Sisterhood that leads into a story of betrayal, forced sex, and attempted murder.
Artwork: The artwork is killer and it completely what drives this graphic novel. In the mid 90’s I picked up Spider Garden and Hydrophidian at the comic shop and was totally floored by this cat’s artwork, imagination, and style. The artwork is so bold, even though it is all in B&W there is so much contrast and texture. Most of the time when I see a comic that is in black and white I immediately think of it as not being finished, but this comic would NOT be as good if it was in color. I will say that I think that the cover really sucks and totally misrepresents the bad ass artwork contained inside!
Story: I guess this story is set in either a realm of complete fantasy or in a BDSM version of the road warrior in some post-apocalyptic wasteland affectionately referred to as The Wasteland. In this story, there are some miners in the middle of nowhere, a few people imitating horses, and two Tranceptors... and the lizard man. I guess in the setting of this story people use horse fetish enthusiasts to pull carts in order to get around - instead of using cars or real horses. This seems totally logical and hot! After pulling the carts around, these horse people are rewarded with a good scrubbing, sex with a water hose or getting hooked up to an ejaculation pump type thingamajig which is I am guessing is normally used on horses. Oh yeah, the two Tranceptors are trying to commit some unclear act of villainy that leads to more villainy until someone ends up immobilized and getting ass-raped by a giant lizard man who simultaneously vaginally rapes with his long lizard tale. I seriously have no idea what the story is about. My two guesses about what is really going on at this point are: A- there is a complete back story that makes sense and will either be revealed more in part two or not at all. B - a lot of the comic was drawn and laid out visually and the story was loosely sprinkled over top of it. To be honest it doesn’t have to make sense. The story in a porno flick is not relevant and in this case the artwork tells the story and holds your attention.
Action: So far in the story, there has not been very much full blown action happening, but there has been a whole lot of teasing going on. Realistically speaking, sexual tension is way more powerful than tons of outright sex but I do have the distinct feeling that in book two there will be a whole more getting it on.
Originality: From what I can make of this story, it is not like anything else I know of. Of course the artwork is very similar to the other Michael Manning books that I have read or at least looked at but that is the whole point.

Experience
I enjoyed this book a whole heaping bunch! A lot of the BDSM reality seems a little cheesy to me, but it’s fun and that makes it great. Also the whole vinyl / leather / PVC style of dress really loans itself well to the style of the artwork. There are 80 full size pages with very little writing throughout most of the book, and when you reach the end you have the feeling that there was just not enough. It goes by very quickly. I could look at the artwork all day. If this book was 800 pages long I am sure that a lot of the sexual and plot elements would probably have been more thoroughly developed, but it did succeed at being both enjoyable and arousing.
Follow-up commentary
2 months after original review
This book is a lot of fun; I have flipped through it a bunch of times since I read it to just look at the artwork. After reading this book I do want to buy the next part, and pick up the other newer Michael Manning books that I don’t already own.
