Kama Sutra for *most* lovers
This book is a beautifully photographed, intimate tome detailing the art of Kama Sutra (sexual positions and sexual sensuality) in 21st Century same-sex couples.
Published:
Pros
Beautiful art, intimate, true to form.
Cons
Not for same sex lovers, not for hard fast sex.
I am sure if you have read my other reviews, you have figured out that I am kinda gay. (I say kinda because I am not a lesbian, and I am not bisexual...I am just plain sexual.) I chose this book thinking it would give tips and tricks for ALL 21st century lovers. You would think the 21st century would encompass lovers of all races, sexes, shapes, and sizes...but this book only catered to hetero couples. Maybe I am mistaken, but I thought Kama Sutra was same sex lover friendly?
Anyhow, I gave the book a few good read-throughs, as did my friends. They deemed the book "useless" to me because I am not a fan of slow, sweet, romantic sex. If I am having sex, I prefer good hard "do me now!" sex. Kama Sutra, it turns out, is more like slow soft and nice sex...who would have ever known? A quick Googling of "Kama Sutra" will teach you that the word Kama means "sexual" or "sensual pleasure", and Sutra means "a thread or line that holds things together"--the same root of the English word "suture" (thanks, Wiki!). So, Kama Sutra is literally how to pull it together sexually.
The positions shown in the Kama Sutra book were beautiful. In theory, I am sure they would feel good. But it's also no secret that I'm no super model. Not even close. I am a big girl, and I will make no excuses for myself here. I am curvy, voluptuous, I have more than a handful of every single thing, and I am convinced that even if I was bedding a man, half these things wouldn't work. Especially if the man was ample sized as well.
Beyond that, what if my man was not well endowed? I think a man with a smaller penis may find some of the positions anything from challenging to damn near impossible. Even the book laughs at one position! It calls it a joke--I mean, this position called for a flexible, loooong dong! I have one of those! It is called a double ended dildo.
As far as the sensual part of the book, I loved it. There is no way to feel more sexy in your own skin than to start with feeling sensual. I am sure this sounds a little crazy, but feeling sensual, to me, starts in the ground. My feet are roots, and sensuality and sexuality ground me and enhance my growth sexually. This book definitely shows you how to focus on sensuality within yourself and your lover.
The book gives off an intimate vibe from cover to cover. The art on each page was beautiful. I would recommend this book to anyone interested in the art of Kama Sutra.
