Candida Royalle takes you step by step through the process of putting together a special evening for yourself and your lover. She covers finding a fantasy to start with, arranging music, lighting, location, wardrobe, toys, erotica to share, and even how to sensually prepare yourself for a date. She discusses how to play with some common fantasies such as light bondage|Light BDSM kits and kink, sex outdoors, anal sex, etc. I was disappointed that she ignores threesomes, dismissing them as potentially "dangerous" to a relationship. While this book isn't really about sexual techniques|Advanced Sexual Techniques and Positions - DVD, she does throw some basic (and not so basic) hints in. For example, she talks about finding the g-spot|G-Spot - What and Where and prostate and how to give good head. She always stresses methods to learn your partner's desires and body. The greatest strength of this book is that she never looses her focus on helping women explore and fulfill their personal fantasies|Sex Fantasies, not just cater to their partners.
The writing style is clear and this book is easy to read quickly. She uses plenty of examples and antidotes which illustrate her points beautifully. She obviously tries hard to address women with a wide variety of challenges and experiences. My biggest objection to the writing style is that she is constantly referring to examples from films she has directed and relating things to how a director approaches creating a porn movie. While I'm sure the author acquired much of her ideas that way, I didn't feel like these were the best parallels to draw. I got very sick of reading "In my movie XXX..." every page or two.
Overall, I thought this (|How to Tell a Naked Man What to Do) could be a helpful book for the right person(s). I would recommend it to couples looking to add some zing to their relationship and women who are dating and would like to show their lovers how to be more adventurous. It is a great manual describing how to create every aspect of a special romantic and erotic date.
