Happy Birthday to me
This book is a great sex ed tool and a must for anyone who is starting to be sexually active. The sex ed given in schools right now is SO not cutting it.

Pros
Easy read, great basic info.
Cons
No help with anal play, no mention of the u-spot.
I received this book for my birthday many years ago. I was virgin at the time and there was nothing I loved more than talking about sex and drawing sexual positions. I was dying to try on the dry erase boards of my friend’s dorm doors. So for my 19th birthday my friends gave me this book. How did I like it? Let’s just say I read the book in one sitting.
If you are not new to sex and know what everything is called, and where to put it, then this book is not for you. But if you have never had sex, or if you are a little uncomfortable with your sexuality, then this is a nice no threatening way to read, research and learn some of the basic (and I mean basic) things you might not know, or are too uncomfortable to ask your friends about or anyone about. It is written in a very non threatening way no judgments.
It begins with an introduction and then moves on. These are the chapters the book discusses masturbation, foreplay, intercourse, orgasms, sexual etiquette, contraception and STIs, performance problems, serious sex-related issues, fantasies, sex myths, gay and lesbian sex, everyday couples, exceptional sex and dear diary. The book concludes with a sex dictionary and for some I would recommend getting this book if not only for the dictionary at the end.
Like I mentioned before, this book covers a lot of topics just in a very general way. The book is not 400 pages long and is very easy to breeze through. I like that during the orgasm chapter it mentions more than one type of female orgasm. I would like more information on the different spots such as the a-spot and u-spot. There is still not enough information out about those in general.
I think the title is a little misleading. The book does not really give you many techniques or tips. It is more about knowing how to be open to sex, and knowing I guess the best way to describe it is background information before you get started, as you’re getting started, and once you get going. If you are looking for a lot of information on style, variety and technique then this is not the book for you.

It is still on my secret bookcase in my closet, and I still pull it out from time to time.
