Great Read, In My Opinion
Christian wants a BDSM relationship with Ana. Ana doesn't want the pain from the BDSM, but gets excited with some of the arrangments made between them. The couple eventually falls in love and work out an equal relationship between BDSM and vanilla sex.

Pros
In-depth look at some toys and rope play.
Great story.
Great story.
Cons
More BDSM in the story.
This is book one of three; Fifty Shades of Grey by E.L. James. In my honest opinion it was a really great read, but it didn’t quite live up to the hype. It was still good regardless.
When I started the series I was expecting full on BDSM but this book offered more; a real story. It starts off as a story about a young woman, Anastasia, and a young billionaire, Christian. Christian wants an obedient “slave” but Ana wants “more”. They work on things and get an agreement started.
The book continues like this; one wanting a BDSM relationship, the other wanting something more. Christian works on giving Ana more, and Ana works on giving Christian the BDSM relationship he desires. When the book ended I wanted to read more to see what happened to them!
In the book things are revealed about Christian that some people don’t agree with. Christian Grey was abused and that is why he wants the BDSM relationship. To most people, this leaves them thinking that the author is saying that in order to have a proper BDSM relationship one person needs to be “broken”. It’s not like that at all, the author is simply saying that is why Christian wants a BDSM relationship; not that everyone has to be abused and broken to want a master/slave relation.
In my personal opinion, this book gives insight into one person's need to control what he wants in a relationship. I've wanted a BDSM relationship in the past, but it’s not because I’m broken. It’s because I wanted to see what it was like. The book did get hot and heavy at points but it wasn’t all sex and kinky stuff. The sex scenes were spread throughout the book well and there wasn’t a long lull in between them.
At the end of the book Ana decides she needs time away from all the new things that Christian has introduced her to and she leaves him. I honestly didn't think that she would, but she did. There are another two books, though, so I am pretty sure that she doesn't stay gone for long.
In my personal opinion, I think they will end up together and, either stay together, or one will get hurt. Ana has become interested in this lifestyle, and I don’t think she will be able to stay away from it for very long.
I thought the book was awesome, for lack of another word. Some of the scenes did make me kind of hot myself. I will admit that there were spots in the book that I had to reread because it was so in depth and had my mind reeling. There was some stuff in the book that I would love to try, and probably could, because of the indepth insight the author gives. I would like to try some of the toys Ms. James describes by name and some of the rope work Christian uses on Ana.
