As with the other two books in this series it is advertised as a book about BDSM. I would classify this book as more of a mystery status in trying to figure out who was after Christian and Anastasia than I would any type of erotica. There were too many elements that focused outside of the theme for it to be continued into three books. The author did follow through with the characters though and for the most part they were the same in all three books. That had to be the biggest plus I found.
