Cookie Sutra: May Lead To Bun In The Oven
I love this book as both someone who bakes frequently and as an assistant librarian. After all, if books aren't fun, people don't want to read them. You will want to read this book. There is no skimming...the writing is funny and intelligent. Of course, the pictures are hilarious! The perfect gift for anyone with a sense of humor...I'm not even embarrassed to leave mine laying out.

Okay...let me start off by saying that if this book were just funny and cute, I wouldn't be impressed. I want a book to actually convey some knowledge. That being said, I am impressed by this book. The first section talks about getting ready: bathing, grooming, perfuming, massage, embrace, and kissing. Even cookies know the importance of proper hygiene and foreplay!
The next section consists of "basic recipes." It shows doggie, missionary, etc. Basically, many of these positions are ones that most couples might know, have tried, or at least could figure out without much imagination.
However, I won't discredit this section because:
A) Some of the names are hilarious and fit in well with the baking theme.
B) Information about positions is useful (such as which position works for those who aren't "well endowed").
C) You don't have to be super flexible for these positions!
The section that follows consists of "advanced recipes." Such positions include "The Congress of a Cow," "The Ostrich's Tail," "Pounding the Spot," etc. These positions are a little more creative. Funny little paragraphs are included below these positions, and I quite honestly enjoy that there isn't too much information. This book is FUN, and it isn't ruined by serious "sexperts."
The third position section is "for the adventurous cookie." These positions were the ones that I felt were the least likely to be used by couples regularly, which I consider a pro. After all, a sex book should teach you new positions! Positions such as "The Suspended Congress" can truly be appreciated in modern times. Not to leave out non-hetero couples, there is even some scissoring.
The position sections are followed by an "afterwards," which tells you to relax and think of food. Then, there is a recipe for gingerbread cookies. Honestly, the next time I crack out my gingerbread cookie cutters, I intend to play with the dough a bit!

Follow-up commentary

I love this book. I know that there aren't a ton of positions (in comparison to many of the other positions books), and that eventually I will have tried them all. However, the fun of this book makes it worth keeping around. All of my friends seem to notice it on my bookshelf, and we have had quite a few laughs at it. If I ever do tire of it, I'm sure it'll be easy to pass off to someone else who will appreciate it. This is one book where the pictures and content won't ever be dated.
