Best of the Best
Want to curl up with a hot new queer every night? How about twenty? This book will take you down those dark paths and introduce you to girls and dykes (and everything in between) that will make your mind race and your clit pulse. The editor and the authors should be proud because they have really outdone themselves with this one.

Best Lesbian Erotica 2012 is the latest in a long series of erotic short story collections that highlight the hottest, wettest, and raunchiest authors from around the country all doing what they do best: spinning tales that draw you deeper into the dirty web of your subconsious.
Anyone familiar with the "Best" erotic series books knows what we're dealing with: a veritable feast of literary delights laid out like a sampler platter and divided into categories for each taste. This category is lesbian erotica, which includes all manner of queer and genderfucked individuals. There are countless identities and variations represented here. Due to the diversity, chances are you won't personally identify with the characters or pairings in every story, but there is very nearly something for everyone (as is the nature of short story collections). All manner of gender identities and presentations are explored, from butch/femme to androgyny to ones that just refuse to be nailed down (unless you're into that...)
This book contains 220 pages of serious and artfully written queer smut. Each author (from a group that includes Amy Butcher, D.L. King, and many many more) brings a unique perspective to the genre, and I must say that even seasoned erotica fans might find themselves surprised at some of the pairings and outcomes of each tryst. You read the first page of a story and think you have it all figured out, you know what's going to happen, and then everything turns on it's head. Editor Sinclair Sexsmith (sugarbutch.net) has done a great job of picking stories that ride the edge and deliver the unexpected, while still including classic old-fashioned filthiness that is standard for this series. Fans of juicy cunt licking, forceful hands and fingers, kink/power play, and of course strap-on cocks will come away very satisfied and likely spent.
You can certainly travel with this book, although the cover and the title might raise the eyebrow of anyone who sees them. The cover photo isn't explicit, just a very tasteful shot of a butch and a femme kissing. It really vibes with me personally and made me want the book that much more. It looks really hot on a bedroom shelf.
The reasons to own at least one of these books (and this one in particular because it really stacks up very favorably next to previous collections) are endless. Besides pure solo enjoyment, erotic short stories are great for fueling a curious erotic imagination, finding new ideas to spice things up, reading outloud in bed with a lover, or showing someone new your favorite story to give them a better idea of what your interests are.
Happy reading ;)

Still a favorite book in my collection, and I find myself drawn to read it again and again, just a little at the time. Plus I just love looking at it on the shelf! Best cover ever.
