Beginner's guide to your body
This is an excellent book for those who are new to toys. If you have a lot of experience you may not find this too helpful, but there are a few interesting techniques that you may not have thought of yet.

Pros
Easy to read, a lot of information, great for beginner toy users.
Cons
Can be boring for those who have experience with toys.
“Toygasms” is written by renown sex guru, Dr. Sadie Allison. Dr. Allison also authored “Tickle his Pickle,” “Ride ‘Em Cowgirl,” and “Tickle Your Fancy.” While I did enjoy this book, and fully plan to read “Tickle His Pickle,” I wasn’t overly impressed. The general idea of the book is basically a user guide to your body and how to use toys to achieve the “orgasms you deserve.”
The book covers every topic regarding toys one might think of. It begins with foreplay and moves into how to discuss the option of bringing toys into your sex life with your partner. She goes on to cover the multitude of erogenous zones in the body (let’s face it, the entire body is one giant erogenous zone). The next few chapters cover how to set up, feel sexy, and purchase a good lubricant. Allison was even cautious enough to point out that some women have issues with glycerin.
Now comes the meat of the book. These next few chapters cover toys specifically. Toys covered include, but are not limited to, dildos, vibrators, anal toys, nipple toys, toys for boys, and strap ons. In these chapters, Allison covers the general idea and design of these toys, the history (in the case of dildos), and the different shapes and techniques used to achieve orgasm with each one. For example, the vibrator section covered about 18 different types of vibrators (ie wand style, traditional, pumps, and more). Even beyond that, she then goes into how to buy a new toy, how to help you decide which one to get, what you are looking for, and even a few tricks on using them in to the mix.
Dr. Allison continues her lessons with her next chapter “Curious Sex Tchotchkes.” She goes into several time honored traditions in masturbation and orgasm. Including riding the washer and substituting a zucchini for a dildo. She also covers several different accessories for your toys. Sleeves and whatnot for vibrators…you know, the basics. After all that she goes into safety. You will learn about toy cleaning, and protected sex, and even dental dams. Yup, dental dams.
While I don’t believe I learned anything I didn’t already know, that isn’t to say that someone who is new to sex toys wouldn’t benefit from this book. I think this is an excellent book to own if you want a hard copy user’s guide to your own orgasms. Everything from self pleasure to couples is covered in this book, and it offers up some wonderful ideas for those who need a jump start in the bedroom. Allison’s writing is fun and non-threatening as well as easy to read. Hell, this would be a great way to talk to your partner about bringing toys into the mix.
