Awesomeness
Book one opens your mind and sets you up for books two and three. It had me pretty excited and daydreaming about the things I could do with my husband.

Pros
Good read. Helped in our bedroom relationship.
Cons
Not the best grammar. The beginning was slow, but after chapter 3 it was a fast read.
I will admit that it took me awhile to jump on the band wagon of Fifty Shades, but I'm so glad that I did. Book one took me a bit to get into it. The beginning is slow to me, but once you get passed chapter three, things start going by fast; once I did, I couldn't put the book down, which I had to do because of little ones. In the end, I would stay up late at night to read. It took me about two weeks to read all three books, and that's between the kids, house chores, and my husband's crazy work schedule.
The book isn't that great for grammar, but what the heck, it's about the things they do. You can imagine yourself in their shoes, wanting what they want. I will say that once the book started going, I got turned on by a few of the things they did.
The main characters are Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele. It's set largely in Seattle. He's a billionaire and she is a recent college graduate. The book always kept me wanting to know more, so you will keep reading. It also opened my eyes to the BDSM side of things. My husband isn't into it, but we do have an open mind. We have tried a few of the things that are mentioned in the book, but none of the hard stuff - just the light ones. It's also added a little bit of spice to our bedroom relationship.
In all, this was a great book to me. When I finished this one, I started book two, which is Fifty Shades Darker. Out of all three books, this is one is one of my favorites, but the whole series is great. I liked it so much that I'm reading it again. I even had my husband download it for his iPod so he can read while he's on his underways, and he can come back to me with things he wants to do with me.
I will say that not everyone will be happy with the series. If you don't want to buy it, try finding a friend that has it or a local library and then decide if you want to own the series. For me, I took the chance and bought the series.

I would recommend not learning from this book, anyone who is educated in the lifestyle will tell you that it is a portrayal of an incredibly unhealthy relationship. That being said, don't let it stop you from enjoying it if you did, just be cautioned that it's simply a superficial romance and NOT something to duplicate.
