After reading "50 Shades of Grey" and really disliking it, a friend suggested that a better BDSM book was "The Claiming of Sleeping Beauty". She told me that I might not like it because of the rape scene, but that overall it was more appealing. She was right! I enjoyed this book. It was a bit intense at times, like during the rape scene in the beginning, but overall it was a good BDSM read. It had an actual plot (I am one of those weird people that must have a plot - even in a book that is just read for the sex!) and was a fast and entertaining read. My only complaint was Sleeping Beauty's flighty attraction to different men. Also, I have not yet read the second book so the ending was not much of an ending. I am hoping in the next book they continue the story where they left off, instead of just leaving the ending hanging!

Overall, the sex scenes were all very varied, which made the book more exciting. The book doesn't take much time to fly through!

Definitely read it if you are looking for some BDSM works that are entertaining and fast reads with lots of fun sex scenes! It is an interesting read because it follows Sleeping Beauty who goes from being a virgin to being completely submissive. It is nice to see some of the thought processes Sleeping Beauty goes through as a new submissive.

I hate to compare it to "50 Shades of Grey", but since that is the most popular BDSM book on the market right now I feel I must. Unlike "50 Shades", the sex scenes are different and don't use the same vocabulary to describe what is happening. Also, unlike "50 Shades", there is an actual plot between sex scenes.
