A Great Twist on an Old Tale
Overall a great book that does a great job at showing the beauty and not so beautiful aspects of being a sex slave. The author takes you on a great journey with this book.

Pros
Well written easy read
Cons
Feels like the author rambles towards the end.
I normally do not read romance novels, but I am a big fan of Anne Rice, so I decided to give it a try. I was pleasantly delighted to read this book. The author just jumps right in in seducing you into the world of the novel, teasing you from the start and making you want to keep reading to find out what's going to happen next. The book takes you on a journey through the eyes of a sex slave in medieval times. Beauty is awakened and then thrust into the world of royal hierarchy asserting their sexual dominance over others.
Beauty starts out as a shy, meek girl, and as you continue to read she starts transforming. I loved reading about the Crown Prince and his relationship with Beauty, it is a great example of how loving but also how cruel a Master can be to his Sub. To read from a third person's perspective how the events occurred made it easier for me to read. There are many characters often talking and exchanging information, and it's nice to have the names to keep track of all the information.
I also recommend this book for anyone who wants to learn what it's like to be a sex slave without experiencing it first hand (or perhaps if you are curious to see if you might like it).
One thing I did not like was how towards the end the author seemed to give a lot of back story on a particular character without seeming to have a real reason. To me, it felt as if she were writing simply to fill pages. The pages are full of nothing but dialogue of the character telling his story of how he got to be in the position he's in. Whether or not this will be relevant in later books I cannot say, but it made the real ending feel rushed and slightly confusing. The book ends in a strange way with our main girl Beauty going on "a trip". The pacing seemed rushed and introduced another character before ending in a bizarre twist that left me craving the next book.
