Nick Hawk, author of Nick Hawk Gigolo Sexual Positions, is a former stripper and fitness trainer, a rap musician, a model, a real-life gigolo, and an actor in Showtime's Gigolo TV series. He's teamed up with California Exotic Novelties to create Nick Hawk branded sex toys, including a realistic dildo molded from his own dick, and is slated to appear in an upcoming Playgirl centerfold. In this book he's baring it all to illustrate 60 sexual positions that range from the typical to the improbable.

While porn stars Rikki Six and Karina White pose with him (sometimes together, sometimes alone) this book is all about Nick Hawk. In the first few pages are lists of his favorite things, his goals/bucket list, and his websites and social media contact info. On the back cover is a picture of Nick sitting clothed in a "kingly" pose, alongside his biography.

There isn't a lot of text in the rest of the book aside from a chart that explains the star ratings used throughout to indicate each position's difficulty level; beginner, moderate, or advanced. Every page is a full-color glossy photograph (or in some cases, two) of Nick in a different sexual position with one or both of the ladies, along with the position's name, star rating, and a single sentence quote from Nick that's either helpful or just commentary. The ratings should be taken loosely since they don't always seem to reflect how difficult the average couple might see them. For example, basic Cunnilingus with the woman laying on her back and man on his belly between her legs is rated as 2 stars, or moderately difficult and strenuous. Then there is a position called "Craps" which involves the woman being bent in half, crotch in the air, with her weight resting on the back on her neck and front of her legs simultaneously, that's also rated at 2 stars.

Obviously this book will be a "must have" for fans of Nick or the two ladies. The photos are sharp, well-lit, and tastefully done for what the subject is. The camera angles are set up to where there are no direct genital shots, but rather an enticing picture of the position as a whole. For those who are looking to use this book as wank fodder, consider it "soft porn."

As a true learning aid, aka Positions Guide, it has limited use. Roughly 1/4 of the book features positions for the male/female/female threesome, and if you're planning such an experience this may be one of the best books you'll find that offers any ideas. If not, then that's quite a chunk of positions that won't be useful from an instructional standpoint. Then there are several positions illustrated that anyone who has already had sex has probably figured out on their own by now, such as Missionary, Doggie style, 69, and Cunnilingus. The "Treasure Island" position shows nothing but two girls laying together side-by-side with Nick standing nearby, so perhaps that was just thrown in as fantasy fodder. Last but not least there are the Advanced positions, many of which the average couple would be unlikely to attempt let alone succeed at. Those do have a "Woah" factor that's fascinating to look at though, even if you never attempt them. All told, once you weed out the above mentioned positions, there are probably 20-30 that could be useful to the average couple who was not planning a threesome.

Though not a thick book, the glossy paperback cover is the size of a standard piece of printer paper laid horizontally which may be easier to fit in a drawer than the average book shelf. The pages are glossy too, similar to a thick sale flyer, and the binding is tight so it seems like a book that might last awhile.

Most of the photos have the same nighttime city skyline backdrop that you see on the cover, along with glimpses of modern furniture, which gives a contemporary atmosphere to the whole book.

I think this would be excellent for couples who haven't been all that adventurous before, but for us most of the positions fell into one of two categories: Done it, or No way my old body can do it. That said, this is one of those books that has some positions in it that are so wild you have to see it to believe it. Makes me want to show it to a couple of friends just for the "Daaaannng!!" value.

Haha! Yeah, he's right about that. I have a friend who's using the Double Slot Machine photo to torment her husband right now; if he can figure out how to do it, she'll give him the threesome he's always wanted. He'll get the threesome anyway, but it's still funny that he's sweating the challenge. As for my personal take on the book, well I'm not a fan of Nick Hawk's. The abundant tattoos and "Aren't I sexy?" look don't do a thing for me, so the main thing that impressed me was the quality of the photography. It's pretty nice, and I think the book will appeal to a lot of other people, so I'll agree to Alan's 4-star rating of it.
