We have searched and searched for something that would work for us, and finally we found it! Maybe now that we have more experience, I will be able to talk him into a sexier cock ring.

We use these a great deal and even though they take a minute to get on, they are so much fun. We put one on around the base of his shaft and put the other around his balls and shaft. The extra length of rubber gets in the way at times and it doesn't look particularly sexy, but it makes him rock hard and his balls easier to feel when we have sex. He loves how sensitive it makes his balls and I love how hard his cock gets.
So the downsides? Well, they are made out of rubber. This makes them a bit hard to clean when they get lubed up or get stuff up under the beads. You have to take the beads off to get a thorough cleaning and they can be tricky to get back on if you don't have steady hands. We usually just use these dry, without lube to avoid a huge mess, but this may not be feasible for beginners. Also, the rubber can catch on pubic hair so lube helps with this. My man keeps himself trimmed real short, so we can use these dry.
Still, I believe these are great for beginners because of how well they adjust. Now that we have had these a couple months, we know he will be comfortable trying some of the silicone rings. I think if we had started out with something else that didn't work with his anatomy or didn't get tight enough, it would have discouraged him from wanting to try more. This showed him how good it could feel, so he will be more apt to try something with better features. We will be getting some soon that will at least be easier to clean and will not have the extra length in the way. You could trim the extra length, but I would be afraid that you would get it too short and then not be able to adjust it easily. It really doesn't take away from the performance of the ties, it's just an annoyance of mine. All in all these are a great way to start out with cock rings, and I would recommend them to anyone.
