Upon opening the little package, it did have a very strong odor. The smell didn’t go away when we washed it. But after using it and cleaning it again, it wasn’t as pungent. I’m hoping in time, it will go away completely.

Clean up was a breeze, warm soapy water did the job. Though, since it is rubber, maybe take a little extra precaution and boil it for a few minutes. We were in a hotel and didn’t have that option.
