The vibrating bullet, which has a small arrow tab on the side for turning on/off, will last around 30 minutes according to the package. Ours lasted longer; closer to an hour. The vibrations of the ring are pretty strong for such a small device, yet extremely quiet.

The thing that pretty much makes it a one-time use cock ring is the bullet. It is one solid piece and the batteries cannot be replaced. The bullet can be thrown away after use and generally so will the ring - however, the ring can be re-used if desired.
