Pump Me Up, Buttercup
Well, this pump does exactly what I would think a pump should do. It creates a seal and vacuum sucks the penis. It seems to be like an easy to operate pump for a beginner with no experience with pumping. I would call it a good place to start.

Pros
easy to operate, quick easy release, good vacuum seal
Cons
jelly material can't be sanitized, inner sleeve feels rubbery
I am not a man, thus I have not the necessary equipment to write a first person review of the Jack Off Pump by California Exotic. I can however tell you about my experience with it as well as how my partner feels about it.
My partner requested a pump because he had never had one before and was curious about what the hoop-lah was about. Because he’d never had one before, he had no input as to what I was looking for. Since I am penis-less, I had even less to go on than he did so I set about searching for a good penis pump. This was not easy.
I decided I was looking for something with a mid-range price thinking it wasn’t worth investing in a really expensive one if he ended up not liking pumping at all. I would gladly upgrade him later if he felt like it was worth it.
So, since I’m only reviewing this pump and not the entire site, suffice it to say, this one seemed to have the best reviews for the price.
There is nothing discreet about a penis pump or its packaging. Firstly, the words Jack Off Pump are written quite large across the box and the pump itself is visible inside. There is however no smell out of the box.
I bought the black pump which is actually more of a semi-translucent smokey color. The outer body of the pump is plastic, the inner removable liner is jelly. Jelly of course means no sharing because it cannot be sanitized or boiled. It is however compatible with silicone and water based lubes.
I was not terribly impressed with the feel of the jelly sleeve. Usually jelly is a bit softer and feels a bit more skin like but to my fingers this feels more solid and rubbery. My partner said it did really feel very good. It did however aid in creating a seal. We tried it both with and without the sleeve and while it was possible to create a vacuum without the sleeve, it was a little easier with it.
My partner also disliked that it was harder to see inside the pump with the sleeve. He said he wanted to be able to see what was going on inside. I could kind of see him growing inside the pump but not clearly. So if you are looking for a better visual show, you’ll want to use it either without the sleeve or try a different pump.
Now, as far as getting hard goes, this pump did the job and quickly. In our joint experimenting I controlled the pump bulb and pumped until he was obviously hard, and he told me to stop (actually he said “ow”). This is when I discovered one of the nicer features of the pump. There is a quick release button on the bottom (or top? The end not attached to the hose) of the pump bulb. So if you were to over-do it, it is easy to quickly release the pressure and avoid injury.
It is my understanding that growth via pump is not an immediate thing. I am told it takes regular pumping to produce any real growth and that growth is temporary. Keeping these things in mind, I didn’t notice that my partner felt any bigger than usual and neither did he. Nor did he feel like he was any harder than normal. In fairness though, he is not plagued by any particular erectile issues and is more than capable of getting and sustaining an erection.
All in all, for the price, based on what I’ve seen, I think this is probably a decent beginner pump. We had no problems getting a seal and my partner was shaved when we tried it though not completely smooth. I believe that with all pumps, being shaved helps. I don’t know that the pump really has any downsides for us, just that it has not turned out to be all that interesting to us. I’m not sure if we will experiment further.
So I’d say this is probably a decent beginner pump and probably a good way to decide if you want to continue pumping or not.

This is not something we use very often, but it comes out of the toy drawer now and again. It does its job but remember, you have to pump regularly for there to be any real difference in size. We use it mostly to get my partner hard very quickly. If you leave it on for a while, the penis does become more engorged and there is a slight difference in size.
Over all, we have no complaints about this toy. It does exactly what it's supposed to do.
Okay I lied, there is one complaint. The sleeve that comes inside is completely useless. We discarded it early on and haven't bothered with it since. My partner still gets a good seal without being shaved and without lube!

Thank you for viewing Jack off pump – penis pump review page!
I did not care for the sleeve much on mine. It did not do much for my experience.
@Dwtim: We also discovered later that the damn sleeve is a pain in the ass to get back in. Not sure what the thinking was on that design.
