Perhaps, Go with the Bo

Lelo offers two vibrating cock rings. The Tor draws you in with its numerous stimulation modes and hefty price tag. But the question is: How much better is it? If you have a vast collection of toys, this is a valuable addition. If you'll be using a single cock ring often, this is close to ideal. However, I don't use it for all that long at one time or every day. I'd say go with the Bo. You'll save some money, and the vibrating ring itself will provide something new, without needing six modes.

Use

Is it worth it? That's really the million-dollar question. I don't know what you're looking for, but I know I was in a similar spot recently. I was wondering if the Tor had $100 worth of use ready to be unleashed. First, let me share something about myself. I don't have a large budget for (or collection of) sex toys. I'm a 21 year-old college student, and I dearly treasure the sex toys I have bought, including a couple of Lelos for my girlfriend. I knew when I began rubbing her Elise across my skin that I needed something for myself that would vibrate; otherwise I might have begun sneaking her gifts back with me.

So, as you see, I'm somewhat of a beginner, and I definitely would say that the Tor is suitable for someone who might need to Google how to properly wear a cock ring. At the same time, it's certainly not a "beginner" toy, per se. I use it both alone and with her, which makes it quite versatile.

However, do I need all the versatility offered by the Tor? With six stimulation modes, this little thing is pretty impressive. Ultimately, I don't use it enough to need all that impressiveness. I'd say consider how often you'll use it and what exactly you'll miss if you don't have the upgrades specific to the Tor. If you're like me, just looking for a cock ring to use occasionally, then I think there might be better options.

Material / Texture

Initially, most surprising to me was the amount of stretch in the ring. As is evident from the gorgeous pictures available, the Tor separates into two pieces. The stretchy ring of "ABS/body safe TPE," according to Lelo's website, easily stretches around the balls and cock, and it is quite snug as well.

The hard plastic battery slides smoothly onto the ring. If the battery is turned behind the balls, the hard plastic cannot get in the way, but I must admit that when the battery is positioned to contact my partner's clit, it can rub against the pelvic bone. This is in no way a deal-breaker, but I have discovered that after a while, from certain angles, it can be somewhat unpleasant. After all, wanting first and foremost to please her, I tend to try to keep the vibrator in contact with her clit. This leads to less thrusting and more...grinding, let's say. Rigid plastic can make a pelvic bone sore after a lot of grinding. But again, these are the sacrifices we make for a vibrating rechargeable ring.
    • No odor
    • Stretchy

Shape / Design / Size / Fit

The entire object is quite small, and one would be hard pressed to imagine a rechargeable vibrating cock ring much smaller. It does, however, almost seem a little lopsided because of the relative weight of the battery.

Because of its slight chunkiness, I wouldn't use it constantly. It's a nice shape, a nice size, a nice fit, and a nice design. But I don't feel an uncontrollable urge to use it. It's nice; it's not heavenly.

Functions / Performance / Controls

The primary draw of the Tor is, of course, the six different stimulation levels. It does indeed come with such luxury. The buttons are placed on the side of the battery and are fairly easy to change at will. Nevertheless, I personally don't often have the urge to fiddle with the stimulation modes. Is there a noticeable difference? Yes. Maybe if I used it every night, I would want to use more of the options. But for occasional use, the modes are somewhat unnecessary.

Care and Maintenance

One of the best aspects of the Tor is the little plastic case it disassembles into. Somehow I just feel like popping that little thing in my pocket every time I get dressed. It's just so convenient!
    • Easy to clean
    • Easy to store

Packaging

The packing, as always from Lelo, is a lovely black box. I'm not as fond of the inside as other Lelo products, because the cardboard on the inside seems a little flimsy. But then, you've still got the box to store it in.
    • Discreet looking packaging
    • Good for storage

Personal comments

There are many quality reviews of the Tor, and so you can get a pretty good idea of what you'd be purchasing. I'm someone who's swayed by higher prices and more versatile objects. I don't really like getting something that's second best. But would I really miss the ability to change the stimulation mode? No, I wouldn't miss it if I didn't have it.

Experience

I don't search for toys to use on a daily basis. I have been for years, and continue to be, in a long-distance relationship. I try hard to make each opportunity for sex somewhat special and somewhat different. This is what I was searching for in the Tor (and also, of course, some bonus pleasure for me). I use it maybe once in ten nights. When I'm with her, we'll use it during sex, but it tends to interfere to some extent with hands or mouth. When I'm alone, I don't mind. The Tor provided some wonderful feelings, but I don't think it has made an evening in and of itself.

Awesome review! Is it really just the pulse modes that separate the Bo from the Tor?
