Not eggactly what we had hoped for
While the Tenga Egg isn’t perfect, it’s a fairly affordable ‘gateway drug’ to the world of male masturbators. The small size and discreet packaging make this a great toy to toss into your suitcase to take with you on vacation, and the price means you won't be heartbroken if your luggage gets lost.

Pros
cute packaging, comes with a variety of texture options, affordable
Cons
single use only, tore easily
I have a boyfriend who is really difficult to find sex toys for, so when he expressed interest at using the Tenga Eggs, I grabbed one quickly We had the limited edition Valentine's egg, which is textured with little hearts.
The Tenga Egg is a discrete masturbation sleeve for guys. The Lovers Egg comes in a black plastic egg, while the regular line of eggs come in a white egg. The egg is shrink wrapped in plastic, with the pattern on the shrink wrap hinting at the texture of the sleeve itself. The egg looks exactly like the brightly coloured Easter Eggs you put candy in, so they might not raise any eyebrows if you had one randomly tossed into a drawer. (But then, I am known for having random things around that I use for storage.)
When you remove the plastic wrap and pop the egg open, there is a clear and squishy hollow egg inside. Inside the hollow of the egg is plastic insert to help the egg hold its shape, and also a small single use foil packet of lube.
Lube ingredient’s list: water, glycerin, sodium polyacrylate, hydroxyethylcellulose, methylparaben
The egg is made of phthalate-free TPE, which means it is porous, so you shouldn’t share your egg with someone else, unless a condom is used. TPE is compatible with silicone and water based lubes, so using whatever type you have to hand will work just fine. It’s easy to clean up as well if you plan on reusing this sleeve, needing just some antibacterial soap and water. Leave the egg out to dry overnight before you put it back in the plastic storage container, making sure it is completely dry so it doesn’t grow mold or get funky. Even though the egg is only around 2.5 inches long, the TPE is ridiculously stretchy, so should work with a variety of penis sizes.
We ended up not using the lube when we played with the egg. It contains parabens, and my boyfriend, BloodHound, is really sensitive to them. Instead, we lubed up the egg with some Sliquid Sea, although any other water based lube would work, and slipped it over the head of his cock. I was even nice and warmed the lube up first!
I really liked that the sleeve is clear, and that I could see BloodHound’s cock through it, as well as the little textured hearts and patterns. We’re both voyeurs/exhibitionists, so it was an added bonus.
I’ve read a few accounts that you can reuse the egg if you are careful…well, we weren’t careful enough, and ripped a hole in the top of the egg during our first session playing with it. However, he saved the experiment with some quick thinking, widened the tear a little, and used the egg like a sleeve instead!
Before it tore, he was really enjoyed me using the egg on him, and focusing the sensations on the head of his cock. WE didn’t try to stretch the egg all the way down his shaft because we were worried about breaking it (ah, irony), instead only pulling it down about halfway before sliding it back up, mimicking a blowjob. Because the egg is so small, I could use it with one hand while wrapping my other hand below to give him a more epic handjob.
It's been suggested that pinching the tip of the egg before putting it over a cock (like a condom), can keep it from tearing as easily. Your mileage may vary, though!

Experience
His comments on the egg:
"Since I’ve been masturbating I’ve never really considered using any sort of masturbatory aid such as the Tenga Egg. However, I have to admit that this egg has been a real eye opener.
I really enjoyed the fact that I was able to squeeze and apply a decent amount of pressure while not experiencing too much friction or rub. The applying of pressure does well for simulating the contractions you might feel from either vaginal or anal sex. Another thing that I really liked about this toy is that you are also able to mimic the sounds of wet blow job. The hearts on the inside of the egg made for a unique texture that enhanced the sensations that I felt.
The only drawback that I have been able to find is that it’s easy to break. The first time I used this egg I popped a hole in it. This is not necessarily a bad thing, though. After I realized I had put a hole in the egg, I want back masturbating while having no problems from the hole and quite thoroughly enjoyed my new egg.
After using the Tenga Egg I have to say I have had a change of heart and would certainly look into trying another masturbation toy!"

Follow-up commentary
6 months after original review
This egg has been languishing in our toy drawer since it 'popped' during use, so I ended up throwing it out. Maybe someday we will try a Tenga egg again, but for now, we're sticking with his Tenga 3-D spiral, as that holds up much better, even with some occasional rough usage.
