Nice, Snug Fit
You can't beat Julian for the price. He's adjustable, smooth, big enough to fit cock and balls, and adds great sensation for both him and her. If you are a beginner, you can't ask for an easier cock ring to use or put on.

Pros
Cheap, Easy to use, Adjustable, Great for Beginners
Cons
Rubber, Porous, Could cause irritation
Julian's Stud Ring by Cal Exotics is a lasso style cock ring that is easy to use. Designed with enough space to be used just at the base of the penis or wrapped around the balls as well, this boy offers variety at a great price.
A rubber tube held together by a plastic slider, Julian can fit on just about any man out there, stretching to fit at least a three inch diameter. He's easy to put on and easy to take off, making him great for beginners.
The fact that you can put it on loose and then tighten it was a huge bonus for us, as this was the first real cock ring we've used. My hubby has a decent girth and the solid, round rings have often been a turn off due to having to almost roll them down his cock. Not an issue with this thing, as he slipped it over his cock before penetration, and we didn't have any uncomfortable pulling or dragging and it stayed in place surprisingly well.
My hubby said it was comfortable to wear and did give him added sensation. Although he has no problems keeping an erection, his cock was super hard and stayed that way until he took the ring off.
The only problem we had was that he couldn't cum with it on. He said he got to the brink and hovered there. Eventually we stopped, he quickly removed it, and within minutes he was finishing off with a fantastic orgasm.
Made of rubber, Julian scores a three on Eden's safety scale, and is a porous material, so you aren't going to want to pass this between partners (and for the price, why not buy one for each?). And I'd like to tell you to keep sex juices off of it, but what fun would that be! Just make sure that you clean it well, using an antibacterial soap or toy cleaner, or even throw it in the dishwasher. Being made of rubber, either water or silicone based lubes can be used and it should hold up to wear and tear fairly well.
The material is smooth, and when you first use it, there is a slight rubbery smell, but it quickly dissipates and I don't notice any scent now, even when I try. Although the picture on Eden displays a yellow lasso, and it doesn't give a color choice when ordering, so be prepared that you might not get yellow. Mine came in a royal blue, and I like it just fine.
My hubby and I are both shaved, but if you're not, I'd be aware that there is a good chance the rubber may pull your hair if it is rubbed against it the wrong way.

Experience
My hubby wore this with the bead and excess rubber hanging down, and I was able to feel some added friction from the bead, which added to my stimulation. I've read in other reviews that the bead can cause irration, but we didn't have that issue.
Overall, for our first experience with a cock ring, I thought it was fantastic. You can't beat the price and, for beginners, I highly recommend it.

Follow-up commentary

I wish there was more of a range option, as it's not that I don't like it, I'm just not that excited about it. It's not bad, and if you play with cock rings often, then I'd recommend it. I've only used it a handful of times, as I just don't think to grab it. *shrugs* It's "okay."
