This vibrating cock ring is a relatively versatile toy. Although I originally purchased this ring for clitoral stimulation during intercourse (it does a good job at that!), you can also use this to stimulate other body areas during solo or partner play. I have even used it to help loosen up my tense shoulder muscles!

The information sheet that came in the package specified that this toy is, in fact, waterproof and fully submersible though the product page said nothing about this.

The Embrace Pleasure Ring is a product coated with silicone, with the cock ring section made entirely of silicone. The surface has a velvety feel and is quite comfortable. The vibrator portion is hard inside the silicone. For more detail on this, see the following section.

The vibrating portion is wide but flat; when using the ring, it stimulates a larger area of the woman's vulva and takes up less penis length.

The surface on one side of the vibrating area is completely smooth while the other side has a couple of curved ridges. While fidgeting with the ring and using it on my shoulder muscles, I have discovered that the vibrations are more powerful from the smooth side. Personally, I didn't feel that the ridges added to the sexual experience at all.



On one edge, it has a self-sealing charging port, and on the opposite edge is the control button, which feels like it is also covered with silicone. It is surrounded by a silvery plastic rim and lights up. Neither of these are noticeable while in use, and the button is relatively accessible to change the vibration strength or pattern during use.

The cock ring is wide enough to be able to put on an erect penis with the help of a little lube (as long as the penis is about average). My partner and I did not test it around the scrotum as well, so that might require putting it on before achieving erection. The ring is quite stretchy, so should fit relatively well-endowed men, but check the measurements before attempting. I do not have an appropriate dildo to display it on.

All in all, I like the feel and shape of it.

This device is rechargeable via USB (or a USB/AC adapter) with the included charging cord. It has a self-sealing charging port in which I was able to insert the charger with no difficulties.

According to the instructions (and the listing on the EdenFantasys website), it lasts for up to 2 hours on high and 3 hours on low. I can't verify that as I haven't timed my uses, but I haven't had to charge it since my initial charging when I received it, and I've used it maybe 3 times I think? I also have not experienced a drop in power yet (due to low battery).

To charge the device, simply plug the charging cord into the self-sealing charging port and the USB port on your computer or an AC/USB adapter. While charging, the control button blinks; when full, the button lights up solid.

According to the instructions, it takes about 70 minutes to charge. I didn't time it, but when I plugged it in, it was ready by the time I expected it to be ready.

To turn it on or cycle between options, press the control button briefly. Each brief press will step to the next option in the cycle.

To turn it off, press and hold the control button for 2-3 seconds.

This design makes for ease of changing patterns even in the middle of use, and you can't accidentally turn it off (as some reviews on more expensive devices indicated that those devices could).

The 7 available patterns are:

* Low
* Medium
* High
* Steady pulses (2-3 pulses per second)
* Pulses in a short-long-short pattern repeated
* "Revving", starts low, and smoothly speeds up to high over approximately 2 seconds then goes back to low again
* Pulses in a pattern of six extra-short pulses followed by a long pulse repeated

All pulse patterns pulse on the high setting rather than medium or low.

While I'm not sure of the difference between "rumbly" and "buzzy" (I've read these descriptions in other reviews), I can tell you that while I've been writing this review I've been turning it on and off and cycling through the patterns and I felt the vibrations all through my fingers. When I put it against a stiff or tight muscle, I feel it the deepest on low setting; also, at this point in the review, my hands are feeling a bit tingly even when I'm not handling the device.

When used as intended, it provided stimulation not only through contact on the upper vulva and clitoris during intercourse, but also vibrated my husband's penis to the point that I could feel it inside. It felt quite lovely and added a new, pleasurable dimension to our lovemaking.

With regard to sound (bees), it's not the quietest device in the world; however, it's a lot quieter than I am during sex. It can barely be heard from another room with the door open. I'm pretty sure that a closed door would be effective for preventing others from hearing it -- unless you put it down on a surface, especially a hard one. Then it will make rather more noise and possibly be noticeable in a quiet house.

The instructions suggest cleaning with mild soap and water or toy cleaner. Since it is waterproof, you do not need to worry about being careful about water exposure while washing it.

The instructions also say to dry it thoroughly before storing; however, I washed it in the shower and just left it there to dry and it is just fine. I'm pretty sure the problem is leaving it wet in enclosed spaces.

Also, since it is silicone, only use water-based lubes with it.

As with all silicone, do not store it where it will physically contact other silicone objects. Fortunately, it comes with a nice box that is about 98% discreet (see the packaging section).

The item comes in a box that has a cardboard sleeve. While the cardboard sleeve is definitely not discreet, once removed, the inner box is pretty discreet. It is black, with a quilting pattern embossed on it, and says "Embrace by California Exotic Novelties" on the top. The box is designed so that it looks like either side could be the top; the underside has no printing, so you could even turn it over and leave the plain black side facing up.






As the sleeve and the box are cardboard, they are of course recyclable. I don't know if the foam "nest" for the ring is recyclable or not.

When I opened the box, I was at first confused as to where the charging cord was. It turned out that I needed to turn the box over and remove the foam and a cardboard spacer to get at the charger. I also found a sheet of instructions there. While I would store the device back in the box for discretion, I don't want to go through getting at the charging cord storage spot, so I simply hang the cord over the door on my nightstand, as it's not identifiable as anything more than a charging cord.

As my husband and I don't travel very often, we are not worried about travel locks and things like that. Please be aware that I'm pretty sure there isn't a locking function for travel on this device.

While the button does take a little effort to turn on (it's not super soft-touch), I was able to turn the device on by hitting it medium-hard on my desk, so it *could* be turned on during travel. It should either be packed in the middle of clothing without rigid parts (so keep it away from underwires). Given its size without the box, I'd personally put it in a drawstring pouch in my purse or other carry-on so that I could deal with it being turned on by accident.

Also, while the box is good for storage and would indeed prevent the button from being bumped hard enough to turn the device on, it's a little large for traveling with in my opinion.

Of course, there's always the alternative of simply draining the battery before travel and recharging it on arrival.
