Penis pumps are a medical device that have also been adapted for personal pleasure. They can be paired with a cock ring for longer lasting erections and personal enjoyment. Here is a list and short explanation of some of the uses for a penis pump:
**Peyronies disease--a condition that causes curvature in the penis shaft. Usually caused by injury or scarring. The pump seems to help straighten the penis slightly and has had permanent effects in a percentage of the scientific studies.
**Erectile Dysfunction--a condition that results in the inability to obtain or sustain an erection. Commonly caused as a symptom of heart disease, diabetes, prostrate cancer or enlargement and other serious health issues as well as certain medications. The vacuum pressure of the pump causes the penis to engorge with blood and a snug cock ring added after pumping helps to maintain the erection.
**Diabetes--a disease that can cause poor circulation, resulting in a semi-erect penis which is too soft for sexual penetration, ED or shortened erection time. The suction from the pump can help the penis become fully erect. Paired with a cock ring to maintain the erection, it can be effective as an aid to harder and longer erections.
**Masturbation--a pleasurable solo sexual experience from self stimulation that results in orgasm. The suction of the pump and the feeling of the vacuum release can be used to stimulate oral or penetrative sex if a sleeve is used. Can be fun for couples!
**Edging--prolonging masturbation by stopping at the edge of orgasm, letting it subside and then building up to orgasm again and repeating the process. Many men will do this for hours to prolong the sexual stimulation and make the orgasm stronger. A pump helps to maintain an erection repeatedly over a long period of time.
The cylinder is made of ABS Plastic, which rates an 8 on the material safety scale. Plastic is non-porous but can easily become scratched and marred which allows bacteria to grow and flourish in these imperfections. The tubing is also made of plastic.
The interior of the pump is sleek and smooth with no texture. This allows for room for penis growth during pumping without any texture to cause irritation to the swollen, sensitive member. The sleekness does not add much stimulation but does have a heavy glide when lube is applied.
The pump mechanism is made of aluminum and has a soft foam wrap on the handles. The metal is stronger than the similar mechanisms made of plastic, but is very thin and will bend.
**It is recommended to use a silicone donut to help maintain a tight seal between the pump cylinder and the penis. It also adds comfort and a cushion between the frontal groin area and the plastic base. You can also add an internal sleeve or a masturbator for added stimulation during masturbation.
The cylinder measures 9 1/2", which may be a bit short for an average man. The internal diameter is 2 1/4" and should fit most men until a sleeve is added. My hubby was not impressed at the smaller size of this pump since he tends to sue his for masturbation or edging. When a masturbator or internal sleeve was added--forget it! It was just too tight.
The pump mechanism a pistol grip style, which means that instead of squeezing a rubber bulb to vacumm the air out, you squeeze the grips together. This is much easier on the hand, offers more pressure control and usually lasts longer. It has a rubber bladder and valve inside that will allow suction of air and then release it when opened by the safety release valve. This pistol grip does come with a pressure gauge.
The pump is very obvious and not discreet in any way! You can travel with this, but make sure you have it inside a larger box or bag before placing it into the luggage. You can add your bottle of lube, cock ring and a sleeve to the interior of the cylinder prior to packaging to reduce space and keep all your sexual items together.
Use a thick pump lube to prevent chaffing of the penis. Thinner lubes will coat the inner area of the cylinder and also get in the tube making the pump ineffective for vacuuming. The lube coating allows for air to escape around the donut sleeve.
Squeeze the pistol grips to vacuum the air out. This causes a vacuum and the pressure is measured with the attached gauge. Keep the pressure minimal to prevent damage to the blood vessels and soft tissues in the penis. Use the pump for no longer than 20 minutes at a time, release and remove it for 15 minutes. You can use it again after the rest period is over--but a pump is recommended for use once per day.
ALWAYS use the vacuum release prior to removing the pump off the penis!! You risk permanent damage to the penis if removed under pressure due to extreme stretching of the organ. Blood vessels, soft tissues and cartilage can become deformed or the penis can form painful scar tissue inside the shaft.
There will be some rude sounding noises when the air seeps inside the cylinder. I keep teasing my hubby about the duck in the bed--but honestly, it sounds like we had chili with beans for dinner!! The noise can go from a minimal squeak to heart stopping....farts.
Remove the tubing from the pump mechanism and the cylinder. Wash the cylinder and tubing thoroughly in warm, soapy water and rinse well. Go back over each item with a quality toy cleaner for added safety after they are dry. You can sterilize these with rubbing alcohol or a 10% bleach and water solution. Let them soak for 10 minutes in the solution. Make sure all components are thoroughly dry to prevent mold from forming inside the tubing or cylinder. Wipe the pump mechanism with a damp cloth.
Store the pump components together inside a large zip lock bag. You can use water, oil and silicone lubes--but I do not recommend using anything but the super thick pump lubes! Especially with a silicone sleeve.

Easy to store
Follow-up commentaryI don't like it anymore12 months after original review
The pump mechanism broke after the second week. This was pretty disappointing since I have had the cheaper plastic mechanisms last longer. I had to go to an auto parts store to buy another pump mechanism. (They use these for bleeding brakes.)

Thanks for the fabulous review! If my husband were to sound like the campfire scene from Blazing Saddles (where they have crazy bean farts), I would cracking up too. I love the list of uses and complete explanation. Makes for a much more informative review. Thanks js250!

I've always read that ED usually comes naturally when guys hit their 50's - never read about ED being associated w/ health issues. thanks for the info. as always, great review.
