The Tenga Flip Hole is one of several premium male masturbators from Tenga, a company also known for its broad line of less expensive one-use and short-lived masturbation toys (namely Tenga Eggs and Tenga Cups). At the other end of the cost spectrum is the Flip Hole line: sturdier handheld masturbators with deep pockets of soft, textured material, designed to offer a sensual, satisfying penetrative experience to every inch of your cock. Each Flip Hole model sports a different internal texture, and reviews and product information I had read prior to purchase indicated that the white-colored model offers more of an oral sex sensation.

The Tenga Flip Hole is constructed of two basic materials: a hard white plastic exterior shell in two pieces, connected at the top with a hinge (hence the “flip”); once opened up, you’ll see that each half of the shell is lined with a deep, clear, soft TPR silicone material, which EdenFantasys identifies as a “silicone based rubber compound.” The material was very soft and plush, but the varied textures are all well defined. You’ll note how each half of the silicone compound has a deeper internal orifice, to accommodate a guy’s penis once the Flip Hole is ready for use. Just by feeling the texture with your fingers you’ll realize the material is a premium one. Unlike many masturbators, I did not notice a distinct unpleasant smell.

Once you’ve lubed the internal components, you can close up both halves of the toy and lock them together with a sliding plastic prong that holds the toy together during use. One thing I didn’t realize about the design until I saw it in person is that the outer plastic case is open on the sides, and the softer internal material is accessible during use. Like the three lights on a traffic signal, the Flip Hole has a trio of plastic discs embedded into the TPR silicone (three on each side; six total), and these help with manipulating the internal sleeve during use.

The locked case measures six inches deep, with an extra half inch or so of TPR silicone protruding from the open end of the masturbator. Once both halves are brought together, the two long indentations at the center of each side join to form an internal channel, accessed through a hole at the open end of the toy. The toy is completely close-ended, and even with the hole for your cock, the Flip Hole is packed tight. The material, while soft, doesn’t have nearly enough give to accommodate a cock with any amount of length or girth, so, during use, you’ll notice the “excess” TPR silicone protrude through the two openings on the sides. Lengthwise, the Flip Hole should be able to accommodate men of most sizes.

As I stated, the white Flip Hole was apparently designed to simulate oral sex, and many of the varied internal textures, from the opening hole to the fleshy “ball” just inside the opening, as well as the bends in the channel, do seem to mimic a (tight) oral cavity.

Size-wise, the Flip Hole is larger than a can of soda; perhaps the size of a large, tall travel mug. While suitable for travel, I wouldn’t call it the most discreet of toys, but it certainly doesn’t call attention to itself the way a flesh-colored masturbator with an anatomically-correct opening would.

The Tenga Flip Hole is entirely a manually-controlled masturbator, meaning there are no vibrators or powered components to the toy. The three plastic buttons on each side of the Flip Hole do offer the user some creative and inventive control over the experience, and I will detail those aspects under Experience.

Because this toy offers such snug internal dimensions, and because (presumably) you’ll be using lube with this toy, it does make noise during use. Between air being forced out, and the sound of a lubricated penis being pulled in and out, it does make for a slurping experience at times, so if you need a toy that doesn’t make much noise, bear that in mind.

Since it’s made entirely of plastic and TPR silicone, the entire thing can be washed, which is a great thing when it comes time to clean up after use. I haven’t tried using the Flip Hole in the shower, but I don’t see why you couldn’t, if that’s your thing.

Cleaning up after use is a snap, thanks to the flip design, which offers easy access to the internal aspects of the toy for cleaning. With hot, soapy water, you can easily and swiftly clean out the inside of the Flip Hole and leave it open to dry. The booklet that came with the toy explains that you can balance the opened toy on the plastic slider that holds it together during use, but I couldn’t easily figure out how that worked; if it’s just supposed to rest on the tips of the prongs, I found the toy too heavy to stay put, so I skipped that step and just left it flipped open to air dry overnight. The slider can be used upside-down to cover the open end of the toy when being stored, and this creates a hard base that fits neatly in a recessed pocket that also holds the three lube samples that come with the Flip Hole.

The plastic base works great for storage, but it does not offer complete coverage of the entire toy. It will keep it upright so you can slide it away in a closet or storage cabinet.

The lube samples that accompany the Flip Hole are three different consistencies of water-based lube, which is the only type lube EdenFantasys recommends with this toy.

The Flip Hole came packaged in the aforementioned plastic base, wrapped in a clear plastic canister. The toy is clearly visible, and the labeling, while pretty minimalistic, does identify the product as a masturbator. In addition to the three lube samples (cleverly packed in clear, hard plastic containers, like small test tubes), there is an owner’s manual for the Flip Hole tucked under the hard base.

Design-wise, I hope Tenga will consider releasing a model with a little more internal “wiggle room.” I know they have released larger versions of their popular Tenga Cups and Air toys, and I really think a Flip Hole that allows room for longer/thicker cocks would make for a better overall experience.

Because of the higher cost of this toy, I had high hopes for a good experience. Right out of the package, I could tell the Flip Hole had a nice design, but even before I got my cock near it, I was a little concerned with how tightly-packed the internal material was, especially given that the hard plastic case was open on either side and didn’t really contain the softer material.

Lubing the internal components was a snap thanks to the hinged design, and I didn’t have any trouble sliding the plastic prongs down either side of the toy to lock everything into place.

I found penetration to be difficult, even with a generous coating of lubricant on my cock. Just pushing the head of my cock into the hole sent the softer material out of the openings on the sides. Once I was confident I wasn’t going to damage the internal components, I pushed a little harder. While I didn’t care for the sensation of the excess material bulging out both of the sides, I have to admit the lubricated knobs and nodules inside the (very tight) channel felt great on my cock. But with a closed end, it was a bit of a chore working myself all the way inside.

This is where the buttons up and down the side of the case come into play. By pushing down on them, you can alter the way the toy reacts to your cock. The upper-most buttons seemed to force air out of the inside. Coupled with the wheezing noise this made, the top buttons weren’t my favorite. I switched to the lower-most buttons, realizing I was able to manipulate the toy into “sucking” more of my cock inside. That was nice!

Once I was able to completely penetrate the Flip Hole, I grasped the middle buttons on each side and found that these two were the best of the bunch. While pressing down on either one, it felt amazingly like the workings of a real mouth, pulling my cock more deeply inside, and applying pressure to my shaft, the way a real mouth would. To me, this is definitely what “made” the toy.

The internal textures were nice, but I am not sure I was able to appreciate the vast array of them, given how tight everything was. I guess I’ll need to test drive another Flip Hole model to see how the textures of the white version measure up in comparison.

Climax approached quickly, and by altering the way I manipulated the buttons, I was able to prolong it for a little bit, but the Flip Hole felt too good to hold it back for long. I would like to point out that, for a masturbator, the Flip Hole is on the heavy side. So unless you have one of those “mounts” for hands-free use, you’ll probably need to keep at least one hand on the toy during use.
