Both my partner and I have used cock rings before, but never a vibrating ring. This was a new experience for the both of us.

The Pirates Riley Steele’s Pleasure Ring arrived in an attractive plastic case. The casing has a pirate theme, based on the movie by Digital Playground (though I have no seen it yet). The back of the packaging shows a few other products available from Digital Playground from the Pirates line. It also boasts some of the features of the product which include:

Both the cock ring and bullet are very attractive with nice detailing on each. The cock ring has skull heads circling it, and the area where you place the bullet into on the ring has a hook, which is used for clitoral stimulation. On the opposite side of the hook, there is a diamond shape of nubs that can also be used for clitoral stimulation depending on which way you or your partner wears the ring.





The cock ring is made of TPE and is very stretchy. The hook used for clitoral stimulation is very soft and thin. It is not firm, so when it touches the clitoral area, it will bend and press up against the area rather then “poke” it. This is the side we had used; we have yet to try the nubbed, opposite side. The skulls circling the cock ring are a nice attractive feature to the eye, but we didn’t find it useful in practice. I actually found that the skulls rubbing against my skin was a bit irritating. Next time we use it, we will put a small amount of lube on the skulls that way they slip on my skin when they touch it, to avoid irritation.



The cock ring’s measurements are as follows:

Unstretched diameter: ¾ inches
Max stretched diameter 3inches
Bullet length: 2 ½ inches

So although the cock ring is not adjustable with a specific closure, the cock ring will stretch to accommodate most penis sizes. Of course, the more girth to the penis, the tighter (and I assume more uncomfortable) the ring will feel when it is on. The measurements above should help when deciding on whether or not you or your partner will find it comfortable.



The bullet is lovely. It is 2 and a half inches in length and slips into the top part of the cock ring. The bullets takes 3 watch batteries and are included. The batteries are already in the bullet, and to activate it, you need to take out a small piece of paper inside of the bullet. We did not have any difficulties opening or closing the bullet tightly. The noise level of the bullet is quite quiet and cannot be heard through closed doors.

On the end of the bullet, there is a single, black push-button which controls the vibration patterns. As described on the product page, the patterns are as follows:

1.low continuous
2. high continuous
3. slow pulse
4. fast pulse
5. slow-slow-fast pulse

Both my partner and I preferred the second setting, which is the strongest, continual vibration setting. We tried out the other settings, but the vibrations were not constant or strong enough in them so we stuck with #2. If you find that the bullet is not strong enough for you, or is too strong, you can use a different bullet with the ring since it is not attached to it. Since this is our first vibrating ring, we are quite happy with the bullet it came with and the speed/strength of the vibrations.

Because the bullet is not attached to the ring, and can be opened to replace the batteries, you do not have to dispose of it once the batteries die (like other cock rings I have seen available). This is a nice feature because for us personally, if we spend $25.00 on a piece that we enjoy, we’d like to be able to keep it in our toy box, rather than having to throw it out and buy a new one.

When we were finished, I cleaned the cock ring and bullet off with some soap and water. The bullet is “splash-proof” which I assume means that it can not be submerged in water. When cleaning the bullet, I used a damp washcloth and wiped it clean. As for the cock ring, I used the soap and submerged it in the water (separate from the bullet).

You can store this product wherever you’d like, but I want to suggest storing it somewhere there is not a lot of lint, hair, dust, etc. The material is basically a magnet to everything and anything that can be around. As I review this ring, I sat it on our couch beside me, and it has picked up more cat hair than our vacuum does. You should also wash the ring before using it because of this.

My partner gives the ring a 5 out of 5 because he found it comfortable, it did not rip out any of his hairs, he found the design quite masculine, and it prolonged our sexual activity. I give the ring a 4 out of 5 because I did enjoy it, but the bullet did slip out once. I feel the bullet should be a bit more secure so that when using it, you do not need to stop and put the bullet back in place. Both my partner and I agree that we would buy this product again if we were to lose it, etc.

We've used the ring a few times since the original review and my partner loved it so much that he decided to purchase another Pirates cock ring. He bought the Janine ring, though we have not used that one yet. My partner is in love with everything about the Pirate rings, and said that it still feels great. The batteries have also not died yet so we're quite happy about that! The bullet still seems to fall out every so often. My partner doesn't seem to find this a problem but that is probably because I am always the one who is putting it back in its place. I find it a bit annoying that it doesn't just stay where it is supposed to, but that really is the only thing I dislike about it. Everything is is lovely, and the fact that my partner loves it so much, makes me enjoy it even more.
